Just wondered if anyone else had this? I feel exhausted and foggy headed a month after the Pfizer..

OMG! Long Vaccine is this a new thing?

CeibaTree · 22/05/2021 15:30

Why do you think it's from the vaccine a month on though? Why not iron deficiency, thyroid issues, or anything else it could be? Maybe get blood tests at the doctors 🥼

LucilleTheVampireBat · 22/05/2021 15:32

Why on earth would you try to connect this to the vaccine??

Cantspeakpublic · 22/05/2021 15:40

Lol I love the tired vaccine! No was just wondering if anyone else had this or whether something else. The only reason I ask is it’s similar to what I felt after the vaccine so feels the same if you see what I mean.
Just an innocent question and wonder that’s all! I’m pro vaccine 😊

Hi, the side effects of feeling lousy after mine have triggered my recurring depression. Although it'd be a hundred times worse if I got covid! Is that relevant at all? Also could just be coincidence ofc, when all of us are getting vaxed there's bound to be a cross over. Feel better soon!

Because when you have a vaccine, your body uses a lot of your vitamins/minerals in order to mount an immune response. If your levels are already sub-optimal, that can be enough to push you into developing symptoms.

BoomChicka · 22/05/2021 16:51

Yes, one of my team has been really tired and forgetful since the vaccine, I hope I'm not the same after mine!

Cantspeakpublic · 22/05/2021 17:16

I feel like I’m jet lagged or wading in fog it’s very annoying! Will monitor it..

Could be the effect of living through a global pandemic? My pharmacist suggests vitamin d supplements for everything. To be fair I take them now and I do feel pretty good. Could be placebo effect but that's great. Hope you feel back to normal soon x

Halloweenrainbow · 22/05/2021 18:35

Week 10 and still have dizzy spells. It started abruptly 12 hours after vaccine. Could be weird side effect or total coincidence. Nobody knows. Confused. Interesting to hear other people's experiences on this thread.

Cantspeakpublic · 22/05/2021 21:47

Yes very much a dizzy feeling which I have never had before. Will have to see how it goes but it is good to hear from others too.
I also was quite dizzy and off for a week after it and it’s just not settled. Bit today I feel worse for some reason. Hopefully won’t last long

Yes, me. I felt really tired the few days after vaccine and I seem to drift in and out of really tired phases/ hit the wall during the day. Hasn't gone away and same as pp, definitely my memory is shot. I've had second vaccine as well and fatigue feeling just rumbles on. I'm late 50s, so I can rule out pregnancy.

A work colleague had that after her vaccine. Had blood tests, was told she had very low vit D levels, but nothing else found. She started to feel much better after starting supplementation - doesn’t know if she would have been getting better by then or not, but she thinks the vit D did make a big difference to her feelings of exhaustion and body aches.

Yes, I do wonder if vitamin D levels are pretty low generally. It's hard to get enough in a "normal" UK winter without taking a supplement. But this year, winter seems to have gone on for ever! We would normally have been able to get out in the spring sun quite a bit by now and been able to start topping up our vitamin D levels. But we've had a very cold April followed by a wet May so we've probably been inside a lot more this spring than normal.

Definitely worth taking vitamin D if you aren't already and seeing if it helps.

I slept for 3 weeks after AZ
Ostara212 · 23/05/2021 02:21

People who had side effects, did you report them all on the yellow card scheme?

BunsyGirl · 23/05/2021 05:54

@Ostara212 Yes, I have. I’m five weeks post AZ and still suffering with a headache.

Me too 😩 I even googled to see if it’s a known side effect but nothing came up. I think it’s the illness triggered by the vaccine that then triggered the depression, but it’s been kind of horrible. Like being unceremoniously dumped in a black pit and having to claw your way out.
nethunsreject · 23/05/2021 09:47

@ThePawtriarchy, sorry you've had this too. I appreciate the sharing though, I feel a bit less lonely with it! I feel like a wimp, but it'll pass.

Oh you poor thing!

I'd suggest you report to GP but they will send you for a bunch of invesigations to try to prove it's something else.

Dreading mine.

strangeshapedpotato · 23/05/2021 11:17

I've noticed since my vaccine, that almost every time I go outside, my head gets wet.

Blueberry40 · 23/05/2021 11:22

Just over a week after having the AZ vaccine and both me and DP have got what I can only describe as chronic fatigue and brain fog. Literally no energy to do anything, have to stop for breaks when getting dressed and going for a shower makes me feel like I’ve run a marathon. It really is awful.

My DS had covid atm (we’re negative) so don’t know if it’s because we’re being exposed to the virus and having to fight it off or if this is a normal post vaccine reaction!

Blueberry40 · 23/05/2021 11:25

Also so achy- all my joints feel sore and swollen Sad don’t know if this is normal too

SquawkSquawk · 23/05/2021 12:24

Those of you who are saying "how do you know it's the vaccine?", etc. Do you say the same to people who have long covid? How do they know it was covid? Why not effects of lockdown, thyroid problems, low vitamin levels? People know their own bodies - believe them.

Cornettoninja · 23/05/2021 12:55

That’s an interesting way to look at it, all they’re trying to do is get more information so they can potentially treat you. If investigations reveal their suspicions to be correct or something else going on thats a good thing surely??

@Cantspeakpublic your symptoms are pretty vague and could be indicative of a lot of things especially given the circumstances of the past year. It makes sense to start with the most likely and easily treatable conditions so it’s worth asking your GP if they will give you a general blood test to check for deficiencies and see if boosting anything makes a difference. If nothing comes from that then you can talk to them about investigating other possibilities.
