How long to receive Covid vaccine confirmation email and text?

I booked my Covid vaccines earlier this morning and I have the booking references which I printed out from the website (quite glad I did).

However, I inputted the details to have an email and text confirmation sent to me but I haven’t received them yet.

I suspect this may be due to the fact that there are so many people booking at once that they have had to implement a queuing system on the website. So there is probably just a huge delay in sending these thing out, maybe?

However, part of me is worried that I have inputted the wrong detail and now someone will turn up and have my vaccine!

I know it sounds bonkers, but how likely is it that someone could use the email or text without actually knowing who I am beforehand?

For those of you that had a confirmation email/ text do they actually contain any of your personal details?

If they don’t contain those details I would imagine it’ll be unlikely anyone can claim my appointment?

Not sure why someone would but nothing would fully surprise me.

Maybe I should just relax?

Highly unlikely someone has intercepted your confirmation unless you've confirmed incorrect details and it's gone to the wrong number or email address. Have you checked your spam folder? In Gmail I find some emails go into the Promotions folder even though they are not and don't trigger a notification.

I am fairly certain I entered the right details, but I can’t be certain.

I was rushing because I already got kicked off the booking page and entered back into the queue once for being too slow.

Didn’t want to be kicked off again.

DH booked in the afternoon and got his texts at 1am or something. If you want to confirm go to ‘Manage bookings’

I booked mine about 5pm thurs and got text email at 1 am next day .

I’m not worried about the booking not going through. I am more worried that I have entered the details wrong and now someone has an email and/ or text with my personal details.

However, it’s looking like they can take a while to come through. So that is reassuring.

When my parents and CEV husband booked their vaccines they got their confirmation instantly.

However, they never had to queue to book their vaccines.

I am guessing it’s just the volumne of people trying to book at the moment.

I booked my appointment on a Thursday to be jabbed on the Friday and received my confirmation the Saturday after I received it!

I booked my appointment at 10pm for 8am the next day. Got a confirmation message at 11am long after I got home.

I booked mine last night and still haven't had my confirmation, DH booked his this morning and has already had his! My bookings are there when I log in to manage bookings so I assume I don't need to be concerned.

I booked around 5pm on a Tuesday, just checked my text and it came at 8.28am the next morning!

I booked mine on Tuesday, input my correct contact details, but I never received a confirmation email or text (I did check junk/spam). Like you, I'm glad I saved the booking reference, as they did ask to see it when I went for my vaccine yesterday (Friday).

It never occurred to me that the confirmation could have been intercepted! I just assumed the system was sluggish and a bit rubbish!

Mine came immediately when I initially booked the appointments. Realised I needed to rearrange my second appointment after having the first jab and it took 3 days for the confirmation email and text to come through.

I never received any confirmations at all! I gave email address and phone number. Turned up at the correct time and had no problem getting jab. Like you was very glad I'd screenshotted my booking reference.

Mine took 4 days - booked first thing Tuesday, text arrived Friday afternoon (and jab was Saturday!)

I don't think it's odd tbh, there are millions of bookings every day it's understandable that some emails or texts might go astray. As long as you have your reference you don't need any confirmations

The thought that someone getting a text to the wrong number giving them a time and place for a vaccine would then turn detective to find out who the text was actually for so they could queue jump has made me smile.

Anyone who could pull that off deserves to get the jab Smile

I booked mine a couple of weeks ago, got reference numbers confirmed when I booked but received no text message or email, to be honest I had so much going on I didn't think much of it as I knew I'd booked and got the on screen confirmation. When I turned up for my vaccine they had no record of my booking, so I was turned away and had to rebook. When I rebooked I got the text and email immediately. If you don't receive them consider cancelling and rebooking to make sure you have an appointment, it was so frustrating to be literally at the vaccine centre and then be turned away!

I booked over a week ago and haven’t received an email or text. I did take a screenshot of the reference numbers though.

I booked for my 80 yo mum and she never had any confirmation. She rang 119 in the end to make sure her booking was ok. They were able to confirm it for her.
