Anyone accidentally pregnant after Covid Jab?

DunnerRunner · 18/05/2021 10:20

So my friend has found herself unexpectedly pregnant.
Pill taken religiously. Only thing she's done different is have her 2nd covid jab.

Do you think this is a thing? Will there be a covid baby boom do you think? Or is she just the 1 in 100 or whatever the pill normal fail rate is?

Bumping.

Anyone seen any articles or anything in the press about this?

Me!

Ds is 16 months and took 3.5 years and IVF to conceive due to DH being infertile ( told 0% chance of natural conception ). I'm still BF, no periods for 2 years.

Found out I was pregnant a week and a half ago!

I had my second dose of Pfizer on 21/4

herecomesthsun · 18/05/2021 12:00

congratulations (if they are in roder) & hoping things pan out as well as possible

Lucidas · 18/05/2021 12:10

There are definitely a few people who have reported ‘pregnancy’ as a side effect of the vaccine in the MHRA yellow card scheme Smile

bookworm1632 · 18/05/2021 12:12

If it was the Pfizer jab, it'll come out looking like Bill Gates. If it was the AZ jab, it'll be a Boris clone.

Checkingout811 · 18/05/2021 12:20

Me!

TickTockBitches · 18/05/2021 12:56

Erm I should not of opened this....

I really really really hope this does not happen to me.

What jab did you have?

RosieLemonade · 18/05/2021 13:03

I hope this happens to me!

Checkingout811 · 18/05/2021 13:39

@TickTockBitches I am not happy. Although I understand many will be happy, I have 1 DD and 2 DS under 3, one is disabled.
If we wanted a 4th child we would’ve had one.
I had the AZ

Oh no. I hope you're ok?

I had AZ too. My first made my period really late but it did come, I had my second two weeks ago and am due on again any day.

Checkingout811 · 18/05/2021 20:46

@TickTockBitches thank you. I hope you get yours.
I’m all over the place to be honest, the sickness is terrible, I really struggled looking after my boys this afternoon. I had HG with my last pregnancy and it was bad enough with 1 toddler.
In a way I’m glad I found this thread as I was really confused; I take my pill religiously and no idea how it has happened.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 18/05/2021 21:41

9 women got pregnant whilst on the original vaccine trial. I really don't think think there is any connection though!

Thank you, I hope so too. My children are older, but I'm still young (ish). I really hope the HG eases for you soon.

Was you ill after the vaccine at all? I'm wondering if that some how cancelled out your pill?

Just wondering, do you know how many took part in the trials?

Omg read my mind.

We don’t want children. If you get pregnant and could absolutely prove it was due to the vaccine...

Could you sue the government or what?

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 18/05/2021 22:29

Erm, I don’t think it causes pregnancy that’s to do with sex! It may lengthen cycles maybe but similarly to if your condom breaks or you get pregnant on the pill-no you can’t sue the government🤦‍♀️

Hertsgirl10 · 18/05/2021 22:37

YES.... After the 1st vaccination 👀

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 18/05/2021 22:49

I have had my first vaccine. My periods have been odd since. Longer and heavier than normal on one cycle, stopping and starting on another. At one point I thought I was pregnant because my period was late and I woke up feeling sick for a week or so.

MiddleClassMother · 19/05/2021 00:23

prays this doesn't happen to me...

Thanks for clearing it up.

Wife is on pill. Has been our entire relationship. She’s never gotten pregnant in 13 years so far. I am saying if she got pregnant due to the vaccine rendering the pill ineffective, could you sue the govt?

EvilOnion · 19/05/2021 01:14

Why would you sue the government @Doomsdayisstillcoming? Confused

Lots of medications cancel out the pill and illnesses too. They may not have had time to trial that particular effect but i highly doubt they've done it intentionally!

If you don't want children there are (free) services that can help you through that.

Because as far as I know there has been no warning of this.

I am posting tongue in cheek a bit as I know this is super unlikely.

But really, if this caused a man to have to have to choose between something as traumatic as an abortion, or keep a child they were not planning on having, Jesus H Christ, I’m not sure it would have been fucking approved.

Onthegrapevine · 19/05/2021 06:33

No, not a thing. She just got pregnant.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 19/05/2021 13:16

@Doomsdayisstillcoming the pill is not 100% effective and never has been. Neither is any other method of contraception-except abstinence. You can’t sue for the other things not being 100% so you can’t sue for this either.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 19/05/2021 21:50

So the good news is after the pandemic is over. The government can market the vaccine as a fertility treatment. Then us the money to pay off the debt caused by the pandemic 😂😂😂
