Army on the streets offering testing I. Bwd, I'll believe that when I see it!!

Whoarethewho · 14/05/2021 17:45

The young unvaccinated thrown to the wolves again looking like our vaccine going further away so the over 50s can get their second jab sooner. The borders should have been shut ages ago this Indian variant should have remained in India.

Devlesko · 14/05/2021 17:46

Well, that's the NW fucked again as increases in Bury, Blackurn and Darwin.

Moonstone1234 · 14/05/2021 17:46

What is the take up rate in these concerning area?

RhubarbTea · 14/05/2021 17:46

Agree Whitty seems on edge and uneasy.

puppeteer · 14/05/2021 17:46

@SamW98

Monday easing going ahead as planned - absolutely the correct decision based on the current data
Could not agree more, but I am super surprised.

I really felt all the recent comments from SAGE, and the delay to the start of the conference had spooked Borris. I'm amazed that the unlock is continuing. But so relieved.

And I love the emphasis on people making their own risk assessments.

First time I've ever said it of Borris, but superb stuff today.

FlowersofSpring · 14/05/2021 17:47

I'm in greater Manchester. As far from Bolton as it's possible to be and still be considered GM so I hope any decisions about Bolton don't affect us. I'm only just starting to get out and about after shielding.

MarshaBradyo · 14/05/2021 17:47

People say that every time about Whitty ;

RhubarbTea · 14/05/2021 17:47

Also, how do you know what the vaccine take up in your area is? I didn't know there were stats on that for the public.

Roboticcarrot · 14/05/2021 17:47

@Moonstone1234

What on earth has racism got to do with it.

Why was there household mixing at EID? People knew there was concern over the variant. So why carry on mixing?

Why were people 'allowed' to mix over Christmas when numbers were higher?
the80sweregreat · 14/05/2021 17:48

Haven't we been here before though ?
One minute it's all fine, carry on with the road map. In a weeks time or more it could all change again.
I really hope not of course but it feels like Christmas all over again.
(Don't want to be negative , just going by last year. )

MakkaPakkasSpongyThing · 14/05/2021 17:48

I sense there have been big arguments going on behind the scenes...

sashagabadon · 14/05/2021 17:49

@RhubarbTea

Agree Whitty seems on edge and uneasy.
No he doesn’t ConfusedThat’s the way he always speaks
PrincessNutNuts · 14/05/2021 17:49

"As soon as we see exponential growth" the Prime Minister says.

What would he call this kind of skyward orange line?

@Mumblechum0

Totally agree *@DramaLLama* IF that figure is correct???
The areas with the lowest vaccine coverage include Central Bolton (46.3 per cent), Burnden and Great Lever (46.6 per cent) and Rumworth North (47.9 per cent)

Exactly. I don't understand how any of us can be reasonably expected have faith in "Let the bodies pile high" Boris. He's so stubborn he'd happily take stupid risks than lose yet more face. I'm weary of this now
SlightlyJaded · 14/05/2021 17:50

@LlamaDrama20 Also agree

Community/Mosque/Family leaders need to get behind the vaccination programme - there is so much misinformation, lack of understanding and fear. I don't blame the individuals of Bolton but collectively the take up of the vaccine is shocking.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 14/05/2021 17:50

@MakkaPakkasSpongyThing

I also suspect that is the case. I can see the arguments for and against going ahead as planned on Monday but I suspect a medical expert will have very different ideas to a politician.
vera99 · 14/05/2021 17:50

They all look worn out and tired, Boris looks like he has had to swallow hot pokers.

SonnetForSpring · 14/05/2021 17:51

@Delatron

Whitty doesn’t seem happy. He made an error with the weekly average death rate then said 7 instead of 10 I think. Maybe they’ve all been arguing.
He seems like he has been very wound up
Poorlykitten · 14/05/2021 17:51

Every time there a press conference people on here say ‘oooh!Chris Witty seems on edge’ or ‘they’ve been arguing behind the scenes’. Wildly speculating as per usual. 😂

SlightlyJaded · 14/05/2021 17:52

oooh the big quesiton

User135644 · 14/05/2021 17:52

Looks like we're in for a tough summer.

MarshaBradyo · 14/05/2021 17:52

Sasha I agree

It’s said every time

Poorlykitten · 14/05/2021 17:52

They seem exactly as they always are to me!
