What vaccine at Askham Bar, York?

What have people had recently here and what age are you? Wondering if they're doing Moderna days and AZ days, or all Moderna or whether they're splitting it as AZ for over 40s and Moderna for under.

I'm 41 and had the AZ offered to me last Sunday. There was another queue going into another building which could have been just for second doses or Pfizer/Moderna. It wasn't shown which vaccine you were going to get until you were in the pod with the vaccinator.

They’ve had all three on consecutive days - no way to predict.

Yes, you would be wasting everyone’s time, and even more so when you need treatment for covid because you refused a vaccine. Or you could just take what you’re offered.

When you arrive a volunteer looks at your booking and sends you into the blue or the red building. I went into the blue building where I was offered AZ, so perhaps the other building gives out second doses. No idea - but if anyone knows anything please post on here thanks

I was also the blue building and it was AZ. I am 41. This was last Saturday.

I was sent to the blue portacabin - I had moderna. DH was sent to the blue portacabin, he had Pfizer. Plenty of others were sent to the blue building whilst I was there, they had AZ. You get what you’re offered.

It does sound like they carry Moderna and Pfizer here too so there's at least some chance it won't be AZ.

I too suffer with HA and am more worried about being seriously ill from a vax.

I’ve had a very bad respiratory illness that required hospitalisation , it took 5 months to feel back to normal.
Now I know I’m far better able to look after myself but am more worried about really ill after being jabbed.
With health anxiety, I’m afraid I would just magnify that

Ooooo. I'm going on Friday. Do you just get directed to a tent off your booking number? How does it work?

I think the different colours are to do with how you booked. If you booked from a doctors invite/text (Nimbus?), you go to red. If you booked through the website - it’s the national service so you go to the blue.

The volunteers are brilliant. They will direct you.

I had my second dose of AZ there on Saturday, in the red building.

Oh, and I’m 47.

How old were they? Wondering if they rate just giving AZ to over 40’s.

Thanks for clarifying that @Whatthechicken. I did it the national route (not via GP). I'm 39 and my DH is literally just 40, wondering if we'll get the same or if he'll get AZ. He's booked for next week, mine is this Friday.

I’m 42, first dose, Pfizer @Rockinghorse2019 . Vaccinator said ‘you’ll be pleased to know it’s Pfizer’...so I’m guessing many over 40 have asked the question...or maybe I just looked worried!
