Has the covid jab messed with your menstrual cycle?

Had my 1st AZ jab.. then got my period 2 weeks early..continual spotting followed by a heavy period about 2 weeks later and still spotting. I have weird periods anyway and this could be fobbed off as peri menopause.. however... this is more than a coincidence and I am reading it has affected other women too. Anyone else?

Not me personally as I've not had a jab yet, but two friends (in their mid-late 40s) have said the same.

ClingFilmAndGafferTape · 27/04/2021 17:05

I had my first AZ yesterday and within a couple of hours had a “gush”. Not due on and nothing since. Never happened before. It’s a coincidence, right?

Poorlykitten · 27/04/2021 17:07

Friends in the late 40s going through the peri menopause? 🧐

LizzieMacQueen · 27/04/2021 17:07

There's been threads on this so it's definitely a thing. I'll see if I can find one.

There's this & I'll post another in a moment.

Mine has been messed up completely since having my az jab in March I had an appointment with the nurse for something else today a mentioned it I've had a regular cycle all my life and she said it won't be down to the jab it will be something else Hmm

Gingerkittykat · 27/04/2021 17:14

Yes, I skipped a period altogether after my vaccine but had some weird hormone things like tender breasts and a sore back and belly like it was about to start.

I'm wondering if I will get the same with the second dose.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 27/04/2021 17:17

There’s loads of threads on this. Short answer is yes.

I ovulated four days late but I also got pregnant this month, so maybe it wasn’t a bad thing Confused

snotsallover · 27/04/2021 17:23

@TakeYourFinalPosition that made me laugh Grin congratulations?!

I was also 2 days late and only had light spotting for a few days, I'm due my next jab in 2 weeks and my period calculator app is telling me I'm 4 days late, so It could very well have messed up my cycle or I've been upduffed I'm too tired to go to the shop now, so will pop into the chemist on my way from the school run tomorrow.

addictedtotheflats · 27/04/2021 17:28

Ive had 2 doses of pfizer and my periods have remained 24-26 days. Although currently on day 27 and feeling a bit 😬

Totalbeach · 27/04/2021 20:52

Yep AZ and period v early and v painful.

Suzi888 · 27/04/2021 20:54

AZ age 42, normal period.

SillyBub · 27/04/2021 20:57

AZ, 43, jabbed 4 weeks ago, period arrived a week after as expected. Ovulation symptoms 2 weeks after that as normal.

stuckinarutatwork · 28/04/2021 07:40

Quite possibly but with no previous peri-menopause indications and then sudden menstrual cycle disruption within days of the jab for more than one person, it's a bit suspicious.
Queenie24 · 28/04/2021 07:43

After my jab my period came 3 days early no pains or symptoms like normal but then it was a bit of a pointless period lasting 2 days.

kimlo · 28/04/2021 07:46

no, normal period a couple of days later then next one arrived right on time.

mustlovegin · 28/04/2021 21:07

AZ first dose. Normal period

HighlandCowbag · 28/04/2021 21:10

43, was on period when had az jab. Period lasted 3 extra days to normal. Then next one arrived 3 days early. Hoping this month is normal.

WineIsMyCarb · 28/04/2021 21:27

AZ jab then period two weeks late. Have been regular since but on this 'new' timetable of mid- month period

RedcurrantPuff · 28/04/2021 22:37

AZ, 9 weeks ago, had a period a few days after and nothing since. However I am about to turn 48 so who knows if it’s that or the vaccine

FrozenVag · 28/04/2021 22:39

My period restarted two days later and it had definitely finished!

Robbed!

lockdownalli · 28/04/2021 23:22

no

LadyCatStark · 28/04/2021 23:30

I came on yesterday 6 days early a week after my jab (35 so no Menopause yet I hope!).

ClingFilmAndGafferTape · 28/04/2021 23:35

Ok, a day on and I've got the end of period brown blood. I'm peri and have been late or missing periods for months but this is early. Never "gushed" before. I don't believe this isn't connected even though it happened so soon after my jab.
