Boris is "cautiously and irreversibly having a pint" next Monday at a pub.

What does this even mean?

That he's not planning on getting pissed really quickly and vomiting it back up again?

Fine to use slogans - they have a great use. But at least use them effectively and in context HmmGrin

In that he doesn’t plan to close the pubs again, I imagine

Whatever9999 · 05/04/2021 17:33

He actually said he was irreversibly lifting a glass to his lips....I'm going to be so disappointed if that glass isn't still attached at his next press conference.

Grin brilliant!

My ds is autistic and I love the literal mind and the humour it brings

Well yes we know what the slogan means. But his use of it was totally out of context and made no sense. He just chucked the slogan in Grin

I also thought it made no sense. Things like that really bug me.

I know he meant he wasn't planning to close them again though.

sashagabadon · 05/04/2021 17:41

It just meant he was going to go for a pint surely Confused

flapperdapper · 05/04/2021 17:41

I was hoping he was going to say that he was going to have a haircut on April 12.

itsgettingwierd · 05/04/2021 17:44

I did notice that both the professors smirked when he mentioned hairdressers and also rolled their eyes at his pint comment. Patrick Vallance looked like he wanted to laugh!

I saw this too. He said the same thing a few weeks ago. I would rather see him drink a pint reversibly and recklessly.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 05/04/2021 18:02

I have sympathy for anyone who happens to be in the pub garden at the time.

I also would defend the pub landlord or manager if he or she refused to serve the Prime Minister given the harm his inactions have caused business in general. Had he reacted promptly in March, September and in December, the total length of pub closures would have been much shorter.

DamsonTrousers · 05/04/2021 18:05

To be fair, I think he’s just having a joke. Although if I were Boris my number one priority would be a visit to Toni & Guy.

picklemewalnuts · 05/04/2021 18:11

I think he's really looking forward to his pint, and no one had better try and stop that glass being lifted to his lips!

Irreversibly 🤣🤣

Does he also have a holiday booked to the USA?

How else can he contemplate the dangerous traffic light system.

Look at Chile - better vaccination than us (yes, really!, we are not the best even though we are very good), but had to close borders due to vaccination programme being under threat from new variants.

That will be us soon if we don't learn from Chile's lessons.

Krazynights34 · 05/04/2021 18:23

It wouldn’t be irreversible if I slapped it hard away from his gob

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2021 18:23

I think it's his attempt at saying he won't close the pubs again and he's looking forward to his pint.

I will be irreversibly eating lunch out on the 12th. Grin

Ds is irreversibly returning to swimming training (again!)

I am hoping to irreversibly have my eyelashes and eyebrows done, but unfortunately they only last 6 weeks. Grin

Butterflyfluff · 05/04/2021 18:36

He needs to prioritise a hair cut over a pint! 😂

I'm pleased to read someone else saying this. What is happening in Chile is fucking sobering reading.
quiteathome · 05/04/2021 19:16

Chile is frightening. Canada is also having a bad time. Although not so far into their vaccination program.

As for the irreversible drinking maybe the glass will suction onto his face.

Glad to see that there is no evidence of Boris going anywhere near a hairdresser

Actually laughing out loud at this - brilliant! I was planning on a drink at a pub next week too but I don’t think it will be irreversible 😂

This could be a good thing if it keeps him quiet Grin

Hope whoever owns / runs that pub point blank refuses to serve him and anybody else he's with.
