Our borough has just announced any adult can pop down to the local vaccination centre and get their jab today. Can't believe we're at this stage already! Is this happening anywhere else? I'm in London.

Walsall, West Mids has one

Northernsoullover · 31/03/2021 11:38

What part of London? My SIL wants her jab

nordica · 31/03/2021 12:30

Would love to know where this is, lots of my friends in their 30s/40s have had theirs and I'd love mine sooner than May/June too!

Flamingo49 · 31/03/2021 12:31

It's Waltham Forest

I would love that in our area.

MrsAudreyShapiro · 31/03/2021 12:33

We have one near me in London. You can pop down, but it's not any adult, just over 50s and people with relevant health conditions.

Ooh! How? Whereabouts in Waltham Forest?

sleepwouldbenice · 31/03/2021 12:51

Would love that here. 49 and waiting.......

mrsknottschicken · 31/03/2021 13:21

Wow. I wish we had that here in Surrey!

ImTheWolfToday · 31/03/2021 14:45

One opened here (Norfolk) this week but it’s for currently eligible adults, not all adults. You have to take ID showing eligibility and address. The messaging around it was really unclear though and gave the impression anyone could attend which caused a lot of confusion.

Chickenqueen · 31/03/2021 14:47

Hi! Do you have a link to more info on this OP? I am in Waltham Forest.

Thanks

Mindymomo · 31/03/2021 14:49

We are in Surrey and last week only doing drop ins for over 50’s. I think they ran out of supplies over the 2 days. We normally get a facebook update on a Tuesday, but nothing this week.

jessstan2 · 31/03/2021 14:50

@Lalalablahblahblah

Wow. I'm south London. Nothing like that here.
Same here, SELondon/Kent border. I had to cancel my appointment because I was ill (not Covid-19), have rebooked for 22nd April. Well that is only next month and will soon be here but I would use a drop in place to have it sooner if I could.

It's good that some do have that facility available.

FizzyPink · 31/03/2021 14:51

Wow I wish this was SE London. There’s a vaccination centre at the end of our road and every time I walk past I hope they’ve got some spare they might be offering out to passers by Grin

wintertravel1980 · 31/03/2021 14:56

Can you perhaps get to Excel in East London (if you drive) or to the Bromley Civic Centre? Both of these hubs usually offer next day appointments.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 31/03/2021 15:14

This pop up clinic isn't quite for any old person though, is it?

I think it's linked to the drive to finish up groups 1-9 by mid April. If everyone's been offered but not yet taken up then they'll have GP calling, community leader follow-up etc to persuade people to go, which they're more likely to do if they're told they can just turn up.

denverRegina · 31/03/2021 15:24

"Our borough has just announced any adult can pop down to the local vaccination centre and get their jab today."

You sure?

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 31/03/2021 15:29

Strange there doesn’t seem to be any information online saying that... I think it’s just another vaccination centre isn’t it? Not that that isn’t great, but it quite a free for all....

I didn't know about Bromley Civic Centre. I live near there. I'll look into it, thanks.
