Once you’ve had both your jabs, what are you going to do with the bit of paper confirming you’ve had it?

I might have mine recreated as a fabric badge and sew it to my swimming costume.
**@joanna67* & @WouldstrokeTomHardy* is that the actual app called ‘patient access’? I’m confused over which app to download as there is a ‘NHS’ app as well.
There is an App called Patient Access and as other posters on here I use it.

I'm able to access certain services as my GP surgery has (well had, but not now) them enabled. Things like ordering repeat prescriptions, nurse appointments.

I can see my full medical record and it's ideal for my blood results, as they are usually viewable within a day or two if the test being done.

HeronLanyon · 20/03/2021 07:55

Oh I was told as I was handed my card ‘this is just so for your second jab you have a record of which vaccine you had’

I’m thinking the fact it has the batch no recorded is also sensible precaution should there be future question about any suspected batch problem etc.

ragged · 20/03/2021 08:01

Does your practice have to be "signed up" either the Patient Access App or the NHS app? What happens if you switch to a surgery that isn't "signed up"?

If every surgery offers both, Which one is better and why - NHSApp or Patient-Access?

ragged · 20/03/2021 08:05

This thread seems to say NHS App is better than Patient Access App, because not just GP records.

ragged · 20/03/2021 08:09

ok, google says that all English GP surgeries are signed up to NHS App, but not clear to me that's true of Patient Access. So NHS App is probably better one to install today, in absence of other information, at least any English surgery should be signed up. No idea about Norn, Wales, Scotland...

@Bordois

Why do we need to carry proof when they can just scan our chips now?

knittingaddict · 20/03/2021 08:11

@Flaxmeadow

I didnt get anything, card or leaflet, and I don't know anyone else who has.
That surprises me. Both my husband and I have a card about the size of a business card with the name of the vaccine, date and batch number. I thought everyone did.
knittingaddict · 20/03/2021 08:14

@Flaxmeadow

I'm in the North of England Grt Man/West Yorks area. We are really ahead with vaccinations. Maybe that's why we are ahead Grin

It took less than 5 mins. Asked name and if we had any allergies, then left straight away out of a different door. I dont know anyone who got an card or leaflet

I'm in England too, I was in and out of vaccine centre in 5 minutes and was still given a card.
PotentialBeautyTherapist · 20/03/2021 08:19

I don't know anyone who hasn't been given a card.

I had an appointment booked via 119 for one of the national vaccination centres but my GP got me in a few days before at the last minute. As soon as I'd had the vaccination I went onto 119 to try to cancel but the system had already done it for me because my GP had instantly updated my record to say I'd had it. They're not usually so effective, I was very impressed!

@PhilCornwall1 That sounds like a real headache. I hope you can sort it 🤞🏻

BriocheForBreakfast · 20/03/2021 08:32

@joanna67

Nothing - it's only a bit of cardboard with something written on it in biro. Anyone could write one, it doesn't prove anything. It certainly isn't a vaccine passport. My vaccine shows on the Patient Access app on my phone which seems more important.
Thank you for that - I didn't think to check the app 😁👍🏻

I'm in Scotland and don't know anyone who has been given a card 🤷‍♀️

PuzzledObserver · 20/03/2021 08:39

I’ve got a card - but I didn’t get a sticker, and I feel thoroughly deprived. Also, I had to write my own name on the card, they didn’t do it.

HeronLanyon · 20/03/2021 08:48

puzzled me too Re the missing sticker.
Even worse I nearly got one - I was seen by three - Booker in, doctor, injector (normally a virologist at the wellcome foundation).
Saw stickers when with doctor. Rather than asking vaccine related qs i asked if I could take a sticker (made a ‘joke’). He said ‘don’t worry the person who jabs you will give you one’ (no doubt thinking wtf is it with these 50-60s obsession with stickers?).
She didn’t and I forgot to ask. Feel cheated and as if I let myself down also.

Just set up the NHS app and I reckon it's better than Patient Access to be honest.

Freaky shit when it scans your face and compares it to the photo you submit of your driving license!! 🤣

DumplingsAndStew · 20/03/2021 10:33

Didn't get given a card, just a 'What to expect' leaflet.

Not sure what people expect to be able to 'do' with it though Confused

I think they are looking forward to showing it when going to pubs or something?
Abraxan · 20/03/2021 11:18

I'll keep it in my wallet, but I also have 'proof' on my medical,app too under 'medications - acute' I noticed it had been updated, presumably by the GP/medical places, the other day.

Abraxan · 20/03/2021 11:22

On NHS app, and also shown on Patient Access. So all 'proof' quickly accessible on my phone.

Agree about the spooky verification face & driving license...

Looks like I would need to ask my surgery for access to my "full record". I'm only interested in the vaccine passport, so I'll probably wait until that doesn't appear before I ask for further access.

activitythree · 20/03/2021 11:23

@TheWristBoundLatexBitch

Everyone should have a little card with name, what vaccine they had and the batch number.

What's your source? Just so I can raise it with my GP

MRex · 20/03/2021 11:24

I was told to keep the card in my wallet and take it back for the second dose. Everyone I know got one?
I got a sticker too!

My patient access has the vaccine logged. Weirdly it had my invite for flu jab, nothing about having the flu jab (if Boots won't tell them, they can't list it, I asked before) and no invitation to my covid jab. Being together like that, it looks like I was invited for a flu jab and got a covid jab instead. Grin

I just approved that through the app and up it all came. It's pretty much the same as you get in Patient Access to be honest, but this app just seems better to me.
Cookerhood · 20/03/2021 11:28

As vaccinators we are supposed to give everyone a card & a sheet of information about the vaccine. I tell people to hold onto it but that it doesn't matter if they lose it really, it will all be on their medical record.

PhilCornwall1 · 20/03/2021 12:00

Chips you say?

Now I know why it beeped when I went past the self service checkout the other day and it said "unknown item in the bagging area"! 😵
