Vaccine and periods?

squiddybear · 13/03/2021 22:06

Hi, I had my first vaccine 2 weeks ago (Pfizer). I was due on Wednesday this week and so far nothing has arrived! I've taken a pregnancy test just in case and it is negative.

I wouldn't say I was a clockwork person and my cycle has always been between 36 and 40 days (ever since my periods started). Could this be a cause of the vaccine? Am I just overthinking.

I was supposed to ovulate around the time the vaccine was given but actually started much later...

I'm a little worried (I'm a worrier!)

Has anyone experienced the same?

No the opposite had Oxford and now second period two weeks after last.

bungobango · 14/03/2021 08:05

Yes. I got Pfizer little over two weeks ago and now periods are late.

JayDot500 · 14/03/2021 08:09

I got the AZ one over a week ago and period has come in on time

Chocolatepeanuts · 14/03/2021 08:09

If you know you ovulated later your period will also be later by the number of days later you ovulated. Hasn't affected my cycle at all.

DinosaurDiana · 14/03/2021 08:09

No.

Jessicabrassica · 14/03/2021 08:12

Interesting. Mine was 5 days late this month (2w post 2nd pfizer shot) but I put it down to age. I had 2 in Feb (normal period, then 4 days later a bonus one) so no clue what I was expecting in March!

Abraxan · 14/03/2021 08:13

No change for my cycle following Pfizer.

toodleloooo · 14/03/2021 08:23

Yes I'm sure I remember a previous thread on this maybe a month or so ago. With Pfizer a number of people were reporting up to two week delays to their periods.

mrsnw · 14/03/2021 10:17

I had the Astra jab and am now a week late and very regular. Who knows !

quandmeme · 14/03/2021 10:43

Yes, 3 weeks since Pfizer and now 2 weeks late with no period in sight.

squiddybear · 14/03/2021 10:56

Seems most of us are having similar experiences! Will see what next week brings!

Maybe we should all be reporting these late periods?

I wonder if people in the trials and last few months just assumed they were perimenopausal and it was underreported?

JamesAnderson · 14/03/2021 12:30

I spotted a bit two weeks after my Pfizer jab.
I hadn't had a period since last June.
It was a bit disappointing as I was very nearly at my year without. It's now reset 😩

squiddybear · 17/03/2021 14:37

Well there is still nothing this side. Did another pregnancy test just in case and it's negative!

FedNlanders · 17/03/2021 14:42

No change for me. Had 2 pfizer now

ILookAtTheFloor · 17/03/2021 14:44

No, aside from a conceived last month but had an early loss, this month normal cycle and period- sadly as I do want to be pregnant.

I had the vaccine immediately before ovulation (I'm TTC so tracking)

Thewiseoneincognito · 17/03/2021 14:47

Please report these irregularities, it can not be coincidental it’s affected some of you in such a similar way.

bungobango · 17/03/2021 14:48

Still waiting waiting.

EasterIssland · 17/03/2021 15:24

Vaccine (az) on Saturday
Period on Monday , I was due anyway

Girlmama3 · 17/03/2021 15:48

You all need to report it via the yellow card above.

This is definitely a side effect they need to know about.

bungobango · 17/03/2021 16:06

I reported it now.

Redwinestillfine · 17/03/2021 16:08

If you're stressed your body delays ovulation. That may be why your periods are not on 'time' .

doireallyneedaname · 23/03/2021 09:47

I’m 1 day late so far. Had Pfizer 25 days ago.

CappuccinoCounter · 23/03/2021 09:57

Yes I think it's probably stress too, combined with your immune system working hard, as it's so often the case when you're ill, your period changes. I don't think the vaccine could in any plausible biological way affect hormones etc directly (or fertility).
Mine came early, but shortly before the vaccine. So it could well be coincidental in many cases, and related more to the stresses of the pandemic and lockdown, as well as immune system working hard.

bunny85 · 23/03/2021 11:03

Just heard from a friend saying this exact thing. She is usually like a clock with her period but really late now, and not pregnant
