@Sidewalksue itsbased in the last days vaccines which have been extremely low this is expected and the vaccinations will double (to nearly a million from wc15)

PrincessNutNuts · 05/03/2021 16:15

In May/June before our clinically vulnerable friends and family get their second.

Morph2lcfc · 05/03/2021 16:20

My dh turns 60 in July and hasn’t been called yet so think under 30s will be a while yet round here

Your Dh can book already in the website
Morph2lcfc · 05/03/2021 16:25

Easter island- where do you book I just looked on the gov booking website and it says you have to be over. 60

PrincessNutNuts · 05/03/2021 16:29

My over 60 family in Hampshire are hoping for somewhere nearer to them than their current options of Madejski Stadium, Epsom Race Course or somewhere in Slough. Does anybody know when the rollout goes local?

My great aunt in Surrey had hers in a local hotel complex famous for hosting darts tournaments I think. (It might be snooker)

Give it a try. Some people in another thread are saying they’re booking there for themselves or relatives over 55

They haven’t updated the wording on the front page yet but if you put your details in and you’re in your late 50s it will probably book you fine.

Johnson said all adults will be vaccinated by July, so that's July 31st. What he didn't say was whether that was just the first dose or both, given his history, I'd imagine it will only be first one, so you won't be covered.

That's still incredible, the vaccine rollout is going amazingly well, despite Johnson's 'history'.

My Dh is 30 and just got his first vaccine jab on Sunday.

We are not sure why but he had epileptic fits as a child. He stopped having them when he started primary school.

In Bristol hopeful the 30s bracket will get done by end of May, going at the current rate. Can't blimmin' wait!

EasterIssland · 05/03/2021 16:56

A colleague of mine said they were rolling out quicker than expected in Bristol

Yes, apparently a month ahead of average.. couple of dr friends said May seems realistic. Everything crossed!!
snowman212 · 05/03/2021 19:54

Thank you all for your replies! It looks like by the most optimistic forecast- I should have both doses by August, end of summer (which is not very optimistic perspective for me, but oh well, we've been through a year of lockdown)

56 and above are booking on national booking site....that’s group 8. The front page still only names over 60s but it seems all group 8 by age have been added today.

I’d think keen 30s who are prepared to keep trying the national site to see if it lets them book, so are at the front of cohort will actually be End April or May. Those who won’t book until they get a letter or call and are less actively seeking it will be later.

User133847 · 05/03/2021 21:14

At current speed they'll fly through them, but once we're into April won't most of the jabs just be second doses for all the people that have had the first dose in Jan and Feb, when the vaccine roll out picked up steam?

It could slow things down.

Fgs1 · 05/03/2021 21:16

So basically the oldies can all jet off on their jollies in the next few months while the rest of us have to wait until October. Great.

ExcusesAndAccusations · 05/03/2021 21:17

The need for second doses has been factored in - we’re due a big increase in vaccine supply soon and the logistic capacity at the vaccine hubs can cope with doubling of numbers - it’s literally just the delivery of the vaccines which has been the limiting factor up to now.

ExcusesAndAccusations · 05/03/2021 21:22

The moral of this thread is that we’re racing through the groups and the youngsters will probably be vaccinated sooner than we could reasonably have hoped. If some countries want to protect their populations by not letting unvaccinated individuals in before their second dose, and if that means you have to wait for an extra two or three months before you get your holiday (which you wouldn’t have got anyway - they’re opening to borders to a few, not closing them to you) then that’s disappointing but please don’t bitch about it on a happy thread.

The plan is to rump up from 15 March and double the daily vaccinations. So we can cope with 1st and 2nd vaccines
5zeds · 05/03/2021 21:53

Dd is 20 and got her text this morning

starfro · 05/03/2021 22:31

They have estimated March for the 40-49 bracket to start, so I'd guess that it will be mid April for 30-39.

starfro · 05/03/2021 22:31

*late March
