Lymph nodes sore and swollen 12 days after Pfizer jab

Anyone else had this? I feel generally run down and fatigued as well but the lymph node pain is bothering me. Seems to be my left armpit and left inner elbow. Enlarged glands too. Skin on left inner elbow is sensitive to touch as well. I've not felt quite right since having the jab, starting to worry a bit now...

I hope you yellow-carded this reaction OP.

partyatthepalace · 02/03/2021 10:45

Give you GP a ring now for a phone appt today or call 911 if you can’t get that.

I don’t think you need to worry - you are probably just having a nasty reaction- but you do need to get it checked ASAP.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 02/03/2021 10:52

Or it could be totally unrelated. 12 days after is a long time.

MoonshineWashingLine · 02/03/2021 11:02

Gp can't see me till Thursday and that's just a phone appointment as I'm meant to isolating for a gastroscopy on Friday. Typical Sad Because I have the gastroscopy booked I've had a covid swab today so I'm hoping that is negative at least.
The painful lymph nodes started on Thursday, exactly a week after the jab, and have got a bit worse today.

@partyatthepalace do you mean 119 not 911?

Won't it just be your lymph nodes reacting to the vaccine. So just your immune system doing it's job?

Saved me a post.

Here you go OP it's not just you...

My DH had this at about 10 days after the Pfizer vaccine. It went away by itself over about a week.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 02/03/2021 11:13

To summarize the post above

"Should subside in days or weeks"

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 02/03/2021 11:14

I had Pfizer 12 days ago and yesterday my armpit started hurting on the same side. Haven't felt around for lymph nodes (I have health anxiety so prodding and poking I'd NOT good for my mental health) but sounds like the same thing.

MoonshineWashingLine · 02/03/2021 11:31

Phew, I'm glad it's not just me. I have health anxiety (thanks to lots of health issues) and it's been stressing me out so much.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 02/03/2021 11:34

Shit isn't it! Glad you're feeling a bit better about it.

MoonshineWashingLine · 02/03/2021 11:36

I'm still stressing tbh but it is reassuring that others have had it too. I guess I'll have to report it to yellow card.

Completely normal, it indicates that your lymph nodes are activating a good immune response to the vaccine and should subside in a few weeks time

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 02/03/2021 11:43

But why are you stressing? It's a normal response from your immune system

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 02/03/2021 11:50

This is why I'm pleased. Especially after all the stuff about a lesser immune response in obese people. Now that stressed me out! Wink

BlackeyedSusan · 02/03/2021 12:03

yeah, me too. got dizziness too, going to yellow card it but not that worried. my usual conditions seem to have worsened. so fatigue is worse, dizziness is worse, swollen lymph nodes etc.

Buzzinwithbez · 02/03/2021 12:17

It's well known in America that this affects 12-16 percent of women. They've been asked to have any scheduled mammograms prior, our wait 4 weeks after their second vaccine to avoid sparking further tests for something that's 'just' a vaccine reaction.

MoonshineWashingLine · 02/03/2021 12:47

Thank you all, this is helping me feel better about it. I can't help worrying unfortunately, it's the health anxiety. Makes me jump to the worse possible conclusions. But I'm feeling more reassured after reading these replies so thank you.
@BlackeyedSusan yes, I've also noticed a few of my usual conditions getting slightly worse too. I'm just hoping everything resolves quickly.

I do!

MoonshineWashingLine · 02/03/2021 17:52

Well now it's progressed to lots of sore lymph nodes, full body ache with chills and generally feeling rough... I really hope this passes soon.

OP posts:
Stratfordplace · 02/03/2021 17:56

I’ve had the same body aches and chills since I had mine end of January. I even took a Covid test because of the headache.

MoonshineWashingLine · 02/03/2021 18:01

@Stratfordplace that's awful. I really hope you feel better soon.
