Had my first astrazeneca jab this morning at 11am, everything was great. In and out of the surgery in under ten minutes. Went straight out for a long walk in the glorious sunshine, arrived home around forty minutes later feeling fabulous. However as the day has progressed my arm is really, really sore which I expected, can't raise it at all, too much discomfort. Since around 7 pm I've been feeling shivery and shaky.........similar to flu symptoms I guess. I've been online and these are recognised side effects.

Should I take a couple of paracetamol to shake it off, or just wait for it to pass on in the next day or two?

I've never had a flu jab though so maybe that is similar with regards side effects?

People seem reassured that others have felt as terrible as they feel. It's a strange way to look at it. A huge number of people are being given symptoms that are every bit as bad as covid is for many, and considering that Whitty said it's a mild illness for the majority and a third will have it with no symptoms at all, it surprises me that people are taking this chance with their health.

These vaccines are all unlike any others that people have had before; they all contain mixtures of chemicals combined with genetic instructions in order to get the spike protein to manifest in your body. It's the largest medical experiment ever conducted on the world's population..

Bliming heck- what other vaccine makes you horrible shivery and cold and makes you throw up? Never had a vaccine make me do that?

I had that reaction to the Hep A injection. I was only in my twenties and ended up in bed for a whole day.

I know I'm a bit late to the thread but has anyone had symptoms like their period is about to start but x10? For some reason I've had cramp and my boobs are really tender! This is the second dose of the AZ and it's absolutely bizarre :/

Menstrual cycle side effects are being discussed here but I don't think the official stance is that there are any issues. We need to yellow card them! I had a "gush" within a couple of hours of my jab and have been spotting ever since. Not like me at all and my period isn't due either.

I made the mistake of drinking rather alot of Rose on the night I had my AZ jab - had a shocking night's sleep and felt really rough all the next day but absolutely no idea if that was side effects of a hangover. HTH.

My friend had a blood clot on the brain 2 weeks after the first jab and was taken to hospital. Age 70 and won't be getting the second.

Herrera · 29/04/2021 11:42

Oh right well I'm glad to hear that @NoseOfJericho, right after I've had the second

Forwardroll · 29/04/2021 11:47

I hope your daughter is ok @ScarletORyan Flowers

NoseOfJericho · 01/05/2021 20:32

@Herrera, apologies. It was before clots had been considered as a side effect, and it was after the first jab, not the second. Unless you are at risk, there should be no worry, I think is the current situation?
