Group 6 vaccine - timeframe?

Sorry for another vaccine post.

I’m group 6. My Gp has confirmed it’s on my records that I’m group 6.

I don’t want to call and chase as I’m sure they are inundated with vaccine calls, but I’m stating to worry that I’ve been missed.

I’m back to work in 6 weeks (on mat leave) and I was really hoping I’d be vaccinated before I go back (office based)

Does anyone know if group 6 should’ve been done by now?

Does your surgery have a Facebook page? Mines updating (almost daily) where they are in each band. Just starting Group 6 but have posted there is a pause in vaccine delivery this week (also reported in papers).

I think this week is due to be slow nationwide due to lack of supply.

Our surgery says they will be beginning Group 6 next week and expect it to take all of March.

It's the biggest group, by far, and I have been told that they do it in age order from oldest to youngest.

OH's parents are in group 7 so I've been keeping an eye on it, trying to work out when they'll be called. )April I'd imagine.)

Dh is in group 7. He’s just been asked to book an appt.

I'm group 6, and my area have barely started with this group. I imagine it'll be another couple of weeks before I get mine, by which time I'll be back in a classroom with 180 kids a day (not all at the same time, but 6 lots of 30 each day).

I'm in group 6 and I've not had any contact from my GP yet, they have a recorded message asking you not to call about the vaccine and they will contact you when it's your turn. This would be fine... except the local mass vaccination hub is now apparently on group 7 and whilst it's great that more people are being vaccinated, I must admit I am irked that locally the groups are not being done in the priority order set out. I am worried that I may have been missed off the group 6 list but there doesn't seem to be any way to find this out.

@Serenrose I called the surgery to ask in what group I am. I thought I am in group six but they said that I wasn't. After another call they admitted that there was a computer error and I am now in group six. I could also book appointment there and then.

Hi @bungobango thanks for the info. I am minded to call the surgery to check in that case. I have MS and I believe my eligibility should be straightforward to confirm. I was worried they might be a bit overwhelmed with calls if they are advising people not to call, but I don't know how else I'm going to know if I've been missed off the list or just need to wait.
