This is a thread for people who are unashamedly HAPPY today about the roadmap out of lockdown.

We know there will be bumps in the road, but with the fantastic vaccine rollout and coming boosters that will attack variants, we are HAPPY and HOPEFUL today!!

If you want to moan and groan and gripe, there are a trillion other threads for you

Yes very happy and I live in Scotland not knowing what shite Sturgeon will come out with but based on what I heard about the success of these vaccines I am ECSTATIC!

I fully expected a ridiculously cautious, "waffle waffle" roadmap with loads of information missing so I am very pleasantly surprised. Also so glad that the final stage is removal of all legal restrictions, I really wasn't expecting that, it's amazing that they have that in the plan.

I do wish that a bit more was open for the Easter holidays but hey ho, I can't have it all my way

This afternoon I booked some tickets for days out in April and June and in January we booked a UK holiday for the last week of the summer holidays. I'm going to see what else I can book . Its just so nice to have things to look forward to again

I'm happy too and have got a big glass of wine, usually I avoid it mon-weds. I've been bombarded this week with doom and gloom from "friends" who will still not be happy. We will be able to go to the house we bought in Norfolk last October. We've only been twice for a handful of nights.

I’m so happy. I’m so pleased they’ve laid out something for months ahead, I really believe the (tentative) dates will be good for people’s mental health by giving us things to look forward to. I’m particular pleased as it means it won’t be months and months until I can meet my new nephew!

So happy!! Can't wait for a return to some normality and for this whole shit show to be put behind us. Can't wait to see my family again in our own houses

I think it's brilliant. The worst of the pandemic is already behind us and in a few short weeks life will feel so much more joyful. Well done all of us for sticking with it - so many people have had to grit their teeth through some really tough times.

Every day that passes now is a day closer to a much more normal life resuming

I'm so pleased. Brilliant that the kids are going back soon. Brilliant that I will be able to see my parents soon. Can't wait to go camping again and have booked one site and browsing others.

Imagine the day we no longer have to wear masks!

Will it happen later in the summer do we think?

I've been hearing that we will have to get used to wearing masks more, like they do in Asia.

We have a self catering lodge with a hot tub booked for May half term and I'm so excited that it should go ahead
We are all so bored and we need it bad. How many bottles of prosecco should we take for a week? Prosecco tastes best when you're in a hot tub.

May i join? I'm a little wine tipsy and listening to ABBA. Just imagining when i can have a lil dance around the pub with a pint in hand 😂 more importantly i cannot wait to see my nannie again! We lost my grandad this time last year and she's been on her own most this year and i just can't wait to see her again, even if its distanced in the garden. I can't wait to take my 3 year old to different places other than local places. I might be overly excited and even maybe naive but I need this hope!

Very happy! Have booked an outside meal out with friends for April and a self catering break for May half term. Delighted that my secondary school child is going back to school. Delighted that we will be welcoming all kids back to my primary school. (Teacher)

I am happy about lots of things in the Roadmap but particularly happy that they have gone for either two households or six people. As a family of 5 it will make such a difference. Also will be lovely to be able to meet 5 friends when the kids are at school.
