Hi I had the Pfizer vacccine a couple of hours ago. My arm is aching a bit already, has anybody had any experience on the side effects and how long they last?

Second dose today. Arm absolutely killing - what is that all about?! I'm sure the normal flu jab isn't quite this bad?! Hopefully that's the worst of it Smile

ofwarren · 21/04/2021 14:11

Had my second yesterday and my arm and hand went numb within 10 minutes.
that wore off but i had a dreadful night sleep and a dull headache all night.
Today i feel woozy and weak and have started with a hot face and ear on the side I had the jab.
Has anyone else had the hot face/ear thing? I have awful health anxiety so this is torture for me.

ILookAtTheFloor · 21/04/2021 14:27

I had my 2nd dose on Monday. I had a super sore arm again, and I woke up in the night (very unusual for me) feeling a bit hot (not a full temp or anything) and muzzy headed. I was tired yesterday but that's it.

I feel I've got off super lightly! Only had a sore arm with the first.

Legoninjago1 · 21/04/2021 14:39

Oh I just realised I never updated! Absolutely nothing for me. Barely even a sore arm. Was very relieved.

That's expected with the mRNA Covid vaccines.

In other words the worse side effects, if you are going to get any, are after the second jab.

Please report them using the yellow card system - coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Had mine a month back and nothing at all other than the standard arm ache you get with every vaccination. Felt great the next day.

I've just rang my doctor as my face of the side I had the vaccine is hot and tingly. It happened for the first time yesterday, a dull ache in my sinus and a red patch on my cheek which eventually spreads down my face/ear and into my jaw.
I don't understand why it's just on one side of my face.
It happened again about an hour ago so I've rang the doctor for reassurance.

My first (not had 2nd yet), day 1 I had a sore arm. Day 2 I was fine until about 24hrs after the jab and then I was hit with a wave of exhaustion. It lasted about 6hrs and all I could do was sleep. Day 3 still a little bit tired but still managed a 6mile run.

Anecdotally quite a few people seem to have got shingles after the vaccs. No idea how that would be.

Second dose this morning. Arm is really sore, pounding headache, tired and mild fever. After the first one I had the headache and a higher fever. Seemed to go after a couple of days. Hang in there everyone!

Missmonkeypenny · 23/04/2021 00:05

0 effecta with the first not even a sore arm,

Second dose yesterday and I've felt run down, very sore arm but main side effect seems to be two raised lymphnodes ( one on my collar bone , one on my neck ) on the side I had the vaccine on and are sore to touch

Pissedoff1234 · 23/04/2021 00:13

Had the first one in feb and had a sore arm. Couldn't move it much at all from about 4 hours after the jab until the next morning (about 12 hours) but other than that I felt fine.

Was worried about feeling rubbish the next time as heard a lot of people say that Pfizer was worse with the 2nd.

Had it on Sunday and only a slight bruise feeling in my arm. About 6 hours after the jab I had a shower and noticed I had a rash on both of my inner thighs. It was non blanching in some parts. I ended up being sent to A&E as a precaution and checked the rash and my bloods. All ok. They said it could be a side effect of the vaccine or an allergic reaction. It's slowly fading now and other than that I felt fine. No temp, headache or even tiredness.

CimCardashian · 23/04/2021 00:20

I’ve had 1 Pfizer vaccination...not even a sore arm!

DP has had both and not even a case of man flu moaning 😀

Slightly nervous about my 2nd,seems fairly common that you feel like crap.

Giggorata · 23/04/2021 00:31

First vaccination - no discernible side effects, not even a sore arm.

Second vaccination, yesterday morning - feel tired and vaguely under the weather, faint headache, no temperature. If I was working as normal, I wouldn't feel the need to take time off.
We,ll see what tomorrow brings.

Fernie6491 · 23/04/2021 00:50

DH and I have had both doses and both of us just had a slightly tender arm which had virtually gone the next day. No other side-effects at all!

BlueSkyBlinking · 01/05/2021 10:52

Just bumping as I’m waiting for my second Pfizer and wondering if more people will update on the second dose.

ofwarren · 01/05/2021 15:57

It's been over 2 weeks since I had my second. I'm totally fine now
I had numbness in my arm, headaches and soreness around the injection site. It lasted about a week.

Weaverspin · 01/05/2021 19:10

Had my second dose of Pfizer yesterday. Sore arm again, feeling a bit light-headed and headachy, but otherwise ok. I was dreading it because so many people have been going on about how the second Pfizer is the worst, but so far it's been absolutely fine!

BoffinMum · 01/05/2021 19:16

Zero side effects apart from a solitary hive on my forearm for an hour.

Westfacing · 01/05/2021 19:17

First dose - slightly sore arm overnight and a bit tender to touch the next morning.

Second dose - slightly sore arm for a few hours.

All good!

BlueSkyBlinking · 01/05/2021 19:37

Woohoo! All good so far! Thanks everyone.
