Hi I had the Pfizer vacccine a couple of hours ago. My arm is aching a bit already, has anybody had any experience on the side effects and how long they last?

Pfizer.

I really suffer from jabs. Flu and pneumonia really bad, so as much as I was excited to get it, I'd written off 2 days.

Barely nothing. Headache for a day, barely sore arm.

I was delighted!

gingeristhenewblack43 · 20/02/2021 20:56

I had the Pfizer 5 weeks ago, sore muscle within an hour and a dull headache shortly after that. I took paracetamol which helped. For a few days I felt a bit washed out and tired.

Bexily · 20/02/2021 21:14

Thanks everyone. So far just a slightly sore arm but nothing too bad. Will see what tomorrow brings.

Isn’t that normal? The only jab I’ve ever had that didn’t give me a sore arm was the whooping cough. Flu jab was the worst!

Bourbonbiccy · 20/02/2021 21:24

No, I didn't have any, just a bit of a tender arm the next morning.

TheVolturi · 20/02/2021 21:25

My parents and also in laws have all had this vaccine, 3 out of 4 of them have long term illnesses, and absolutely none of them had any side effects at all.

LoveHeartHug · 20/02/2021 21:27

When I had first does of pfizer, the arm ached for days.

The second dose, no side effects. A slight temperature. That's it.

25yearsnhsworker · 20/02/2021 21:28

1st dose - very sore arm
2nd dose - absolutely nothing

CathyorClaire · 20/02/2021 21:30

@Wobblysausage

I grew a tail
Pah.

It's the horns that ache.

Whatever9999 · 20/02/2021 21:37

Ive had both doses and the only symptom I got was an achy arm for 24-48 hours both times.

crimsonlake · 20/02/2021 21:45

I had a very sore tender arm the following day, but felt fine in myself. A week later the injection site became very itchy, when I checked I found a raised area about 4cm in diameter around the injection site. This continued for a few days until it eventually faded, looking it up apparently it is 'covid arm'.

Mindymomo · 20/02/2021 22:01

My DH had his Tuesday evening, had a sore arm for 24 hours and felt off with a fussy headache and ached as well, but back to normal now, very pleased.

justaminutedarling · 02/04/2021 23:32

Had my 2nd Pfizer over 24 hours ago and no side effects whatsoever and none of my colleagues have any side effects either

BlueSkyBlinking · 02/04/2021 23:47

Pfizer 1st dose on Weds. My arm did feel sore and tender and I was a bit more fatigued (had to rest a bit more than usual on the dog walk). But no headache, no muscle aches, no nausea. Tiny fever.
I made sure to rest on the sofa the day after - no idea if that helped, but it was nice to take a sick day, especially as I felt absolutely fine!

Lollypop4 · 03/04/2021 00:02

Achey arm for a day only.
2nd one due on monday

PilatesPeach · 03/04/2021 10:23

I have had both doses no side effects with either felt great the next day and able to do a run and take dog etc.

Abraxan · 03/04/2021 10:35

Had Pfizer in February and had a sore arm the next day. A little bit of a headache but sorted with tablets. Had a sore under arm (gland) for,a few days. My reaction to the flu vaccine is normally much worse than this was.

Dh had Pfizer yesterday and so far today he is fine. His arm is a little bit achy but that's it.

Parents and mil all had Pfizer with no side effects, as did their friends and some family.

Only people we've known to have had worse side effects had AZ and they were all younger people - 40s. Side effects were flu like aches, chills, etc but all cleared up after a day of symptoms.

moonbells · 03/04/2021 11:20

Had 1st Pfizer jab at 9am. Sore arm started at about 6pm, was so stiff and sore by bedtime I had to have DH's help to undress, but was much better the following morning and after that I didn't notice anything. The vaccination site hurt for perhaps 3 days if I pressed on it.

2nd jab +10 weeks, similar time of day, arm didn't hurt as much by bedtime. Felt under the weather for 2-3 days but am now fine again (+7 days) and no pain at injection site left.

Some of my younger Trust colleagues, who sailed through the 1st with no effects, got clobbered badly by the 2nd and had to have time off, causing all sorts of staffing issues.

AlandAnna · 03/04/2021 17:31

Bit worse (aches, tired, weird dreams) after the second jab. Did go to work but was a bit tired and moany!

happylittlevegemites · 03/04/2021 17:38

1st Pfizer - fell asleep that afternoon. Chills and aches for a few days. Brain fog and evening nausea for about 5 days.

2nd Pfizer 24 hours ago - so far it seems easier, I’m not feeling tired and foggy (yet?). My arm is more painful and swollen, though.

I think I had Covid March March last year, so this might explain why my first one was worse.

LoveFall · 03/04/2021 17:47

I had mine this past Tuesday. The next day I had a very sore arm, which has gradually settled. A bit tired. Felt hot flushes during the night after the vaccine.

That's it really, very tolerable and I'm very happy.

IamHuman · 03/04/2021 17:55

I had an aching arm the evening of my first dose this January, and chills and fever for another day. Couldn't eat for two days, so I just took paracetamol and got through it somehow... Now that I'm working too, (after shielding which has now ended as of the 1st April) I can't wait to get back to work! My Second dose is this week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

PilatesPeach · 04/04/2021 10:58

I had my 2nd dose Thurs even. Felt absolutely fine until later yesterday when I got a swollen armpit on left side - same side as jab - and it is rather painful too but am still able to carry on as normal. I can feel it hurting even when sitting still but not concerned.

Legoninjago1 · 18/04/2021 16:40

First Pfizer dose this morning. Anxiously waiting to see if anything hits me this evening....!
