Pfizer vaccine - did you have side effects?

My neck is agony, on the left side (injection in long left arm)

Also feel very tired, foggy headed and nauseous. But it's mostly the neck pain that is bothering me.

Has anyone else had this?

The worst I ever felt after a vaccination was Typhoid - in bed with the shivers for 24 hours. Both doses. But if I ever needed it for travel again, I imagine that is as nothing compared to having actual Typhoid.

With Covid - well, I’ve actually had Covid, I basically coughed a lot and was very tired for two weeks, then gradually less tired for another two weeks. The vaccine reaction is much less hassle than that.

Mrsrightagain · 18/02/2021 22:58

Sore arm. Aching everywhere. Headache and nausea. Lasted about 4-5 days.

yikesanotherbooboo · 18/02/2021 23:02

Nothing after dose 1; I felt ghastly on the day after dose 2 but managed work the next day and was right as rain by Day5.

ImFree2doasiwant · 18/02/2021 23:11

@JS87 It's the left side of my neck, and the left side of the back. Started at the same time as the nausea following the injection. Not migraine related (I do suffer with them, never had anything like this though)

I just can't get any relief from it.

Xenia no idea why your elderly neighbours haven't neen offered their vax yet. Maybe you could help them book theirs? Many here live in the geographical and economic peripheries and are delighted to not be forgotten. For a change.

I'm sure London will be getting a great share of the supply again soon.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 23:37

Sorry you're aching OP

I have flu jab every year. Had Pfizer yesterday. Arm is identical to flu jab pain. Feels heavy, hurts to move (minimally) bruised. For me - completely normal after a jab. I'm healthy 45 with asthma.

I felt fine all day. This evening, I couldn't get warm. Hands and feet were so cold. Felt chilly. Bit tired. Bit of brain fog. Nothing massive. Def not right bearing in mind I haven't been ill for a year! But not ill.

One year I got a real reaction from flu jab. Never since. Maybe for those who have had no exposure to Covid virus, the jab is a stronger reaction. I think I I already had Covid. Maybe my body knew what it was.

I am conjecturing however.

My brother and sister do not think they had Covid already. For work reasons they got jabbed with Oxford. Both went to bed for 24 hours feeling rotten.

The arm ache is a given whichever you have.

thatonesmine · 18/02/2021 23:45

Did anyone else have a weird taste in their mouth after the Pfizer jab? Kind of bitter and metallic. It came on as I was on my way home and lasted a couple of hours.

flamingomingeo · 18/02/2021 23:52

No side effect. OP, the neck pain is not something I have heard many mention (temp, headache etc) and you saying it is also spreading to left shoulder makes me think maybe just check via 111.

ADealingMummy · 18/02/2021 23:55

Yes I did (that one is mine) have the metallic taste ,walking home after being vaccinated with Pfizer .

restless55 · 19/02/2021 01:05

yes I have the neck pain - no other symptoms to speak of.... first day a tad foggy headed with second shot, but this neck pain is relentless. I have tried yoga exercises, warm compressions, advil etc., it just does not go away..

Flatfishray · 19/02/2021 07:46

I had the strange metallic taste mentioned above, as did a colleague. I also had an extremely sore arm for a couple of days as well as headache, fatigue, nausea and diarrhoea. Not very pleasant, definitely felt decidedly under the weather for two or three days.

Northernsoullover · 19/02/2021 07:52

It is entirely possible that the neck pain is unrelated. I had something similar before Christmas. GP said it was 'wry neck' basically a whiplash injury without the obvious injury.

ILookAtTheFloor · 19/02/2021 07:55

All I had was a sore arm for 2 days. I had mine 3 weeks ago.

Bunnyteam · 19/02/2021 09:12

Headache and sore arm days 1-2. Feeling very tired after 3-8 days.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 19/02/2021 10:06

Had pfizer yesterday around 2pm, around midnight arm started feeling sore. Sore/tender arm again today but no other effects to speak of.

Xenia · 19/02/2021 12:09

My son and I just keep getting texts from our GP saying don't call us, don't chase us but if you have spare time volunteer to give out the jab. I expect they are starting on the elderly around here by now surely and will get to us younger ones in due course. ]

If the vaccine starts working after 21 days from having it and lasts about 5 - 6 months (we are not sure) then at this rate before some of us have been offered it those who had the first dose in Dec 2020 will be needing to start the process all over again.

Whatever9999 · 19/02/2021 15:08

My arm was sore through the night and this morning, but like someone had been punching me continuously. That's now eased, but had a wave of complete exhaustion hit me late morning. That seems to be slowly easing now.
(Had my vaccine 2pm yesterday)

espressoontap · 19/02/2021 15:14

A sore arm and stiff neck.

nottoday3000 · 19/02/2021 16:13

herecomesthsun · 19/02/2021 16:13

Nauseous and was a bit sick later that night. Also very sleepy for a couple of days.

Delighted to have had it though.

RuggeryBuggery · 19/02/2021 16:15

Very sore arm and a headache the next day (could’ve been unrelated)

Thoughtcontagion · 19/02/2021 16:16

Sore arm, tired, feeling just a bit meh, feeling sick, can do a few bits then need to lay down again had a nap today too. Had mine early yesterday morning.

RozHuntleysStump · 19/02/2021 19:20

Arm, neck and shoulder hurt a bit for first 24 hours or so. 3 days later I can’t feel anything.

beeloubee · 18/06/2021 14:26

Sorry to ressurect an old thread. But I have the same thing and hoping the Op has recovered now. How is your neck Op?
