Anyone want to place a bet on whether my swab will come back negative or positive?

Just some idle speculating while I wait for the result. Pertinent background -

  • Patient facing NHS (not seen any known positive patients for a while though)
  • Last in work late last week
  • Since then I've been to the supermarket a couple of times, otherwise not seen anyone from outside my household
  • No-one else in the house has symptoms
  • Symptoms started yesterday morning, just a cough and a bit of chest tightness, in normal times I would be in work as I feel basically well.
  • Had vaccine (Pfizer so 50% efficacy from first dose) 5 weeks ago.

Any guesses?

I dont know but DP is in a very similar situation. Works in a hospital, had vaccine a month ago but has a really dreadful cough. He had a pcr this morning so we shall see. Good luck!

Negative

Update, still coughing, chest still sore (like a mild chest infection feeling), also have a bit of a sore throat, feeling a bit flushed but no temp, slight headache. Still feeling generally well but maybe down to a 8.5 out of 10 from a 9 this morning.

Great news!

Ahh fab! DP has tested positive which is stressful and disappointing 4 weeks after vaccination but hopefully he'll be ok!
