@Dontforgetyourbrolly

Enough of people thinking covid is the foremost and only threat to their health! I work in a job where I am getting daily figures through for the Ebola outbreak currently , I'd take " long covid " over my vital organs disintegrating within 3 days . Put things into perspective and stop being scared of LIFE
Enough of people assuming that people are wanting an effective government response out of fear for themselves
DameFanny · 18/02/2021 08:36

@hopsalong

Enough of people resorting to cheap ad feminam arguments to avoid confronting points they disagree with.

No, @DameFanny, I haven't been reading 'too many Tory influenced 'think' pieces and 'philosophies' about individualism'. I'm a professor at Oxford and I write about and teach intellectual history. I don't think that gives me any special credentials on this topic, but please sod off with the patronising quotation marks.

I have been told

Also, as hominim? When I've been going after the 'arguments' Wink

@Hammonds

Enough of people with secure jobs/regular money not giving a shit about people losing their businesses and homes

Enough of GMTV presenters pushing their own narratives whilst they sit safe in their cushy jobs spreading fear

Enough of children not being able to attend school and missing out on REAL education and development

Enough of teachers pretending they want to go back to school and give up WFH ( that might just be on MN though)

Enough of people welcoming longer lockdowns

Enough of people spouting ‘protect the elderly’ when the elderly have been rotting away with advancing dementia brought on by isolation from their family.

Enough of never being able to speak about how you feel as you get called ‘murder’ or ‘dim’

Enough of SAGE members going on talk shows saying we need longer lockdown when LAST YEAR he was a talk show saying they DO NOT WORK ( bad news sells better)

Enough of moving the goal posts!

For once I’m GLAD a Tory party are in because of Labour was in we would never be out of it till we were all living in cardboard boxes.

Enough of this omni-bollocks retreading all the old, worthless, talking points garnered from Facebook and YouTube
TheKeatingFive · 18/02/2021 08:48

Enough of people dismissing others’ real concerns. Better listening and more empathy. And that applies across the board.

grapewine · 18/02/2021 10:43

I'll probably get shot down for this but

Enough with the "Look them in the eye" public information ads.

ssd · 18/02/2021 10:47

Totally agree @grapewine

Totally enough of them

I find myself replying to them....usually with "fuck off"

Excited101 · 18/02/2021 10:57

Yy to the advert as mentioned above. I also tel them to fuck off.

TempsPerdu · 18/02/2021 10:58

@grapewine

Also agree with this - it’s very much ‘fuck off’ here too!

SeldomFollowedIt · 18/02/2021 11:30

Look them in the eye ads are horrific, trying to pull on people’s moral codes, when the governments own moral code is questionable.

Fuck off indeed.

TravellingTilbury · 18/02/2021 11:42

Enough of blaming and shaming others.

Blimey. Very cautious here because of family circumstances, follow every restriction and don’t want to open up too early, before full vaccine roll out.

How on earth is that going to make people who have no choice though, like various council workers for example, feel? They’re potential murderers for going to work?

Very ill thought out.

StarCat2020 · 18/02/2021 12:36

Very ill thought out
I couldn't believe it either.

lunapeace · 18/02/2021 12:37

My local council have done things like that, their social media is out of control. I think they have some very odd people working for them.

Those ads are utterly shameless emotional manipulation. Every time I see one, I’m actually embarrassed for whoever came up with them.

My alternative campaign involves a series of adverts featuring teenagers who have been utterly screwed over by this shitshow challenging members of the government to look them in the eye and tell them they haven’t utterly shafted their future.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/02/2021 12:57

So much “utterly” in that post 😂 You can tell those ads give me the rage!

Yes Yes Yes!!!

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross yes, absolutely agree!
MarshaBradyo · 18/02/2021 14:35

The alternative versions of the Eyes campaign work so much better

Hammonds · 18/02/2021 14:48

Enough of people resorting to cheap ad feminam arguments to avoid confronting points they disagree with

Absolutely! Some people can’t help it though that’s all they have in their bag. It’s akin to “ If you don’t agree with me your stupid - my opinion is THE ONLY OPINON acceptable’

StarCat2020 · 18/02/2021 15:39

Sadly it is

This is a local paper report about it
