Also, enough of my hair. My last two cuts were cancelled and it's almost down to my waist. It looks like Dany's from GOT as she started descending into madness.”

🤣🤣

I look like the young lady in The Queen’s Gambit.
In that I have a very bad haircut that looks as though it was done by a matron in a carehome/an adoptive mother.

Sadly, I do not have the beautiful, young, fresh face that can carry any old hair, as she does. 😭

Enough fake altruism from people who are in fact just shit scared of getting and dying from a Covid. (I'm not saying there's not a lot of real altruism going on too. But poke under the skin of many ardent pro-lockdowners, and they're not Mother Theresa, they just can't understand a table of statistics).

Enough of the idea that the normal, averagely virtuous person can be expected to give up a huge number of things valuable to them, for an indefinite length of time, to save the lives people they don't know.

If human beings were that selfless we would be extinct! Natural selection doesn't give much of a shit about killing granny, but it gives a massive shit about making sure that our offspring thrive and go on to reproduce. Of course, we can use rationality to overcome genetic instincts. But there are limits.“

Ahhh. Lady Thatcher her would be so proud of you.

confuseddotcom090 · 17/02/2021 20:48

@lunapeace

Enough of the media preachers, yes those that tell us what to do, put the fear of god into people daily and swan off to France and Barbados for your luxury holidays.
Yeah, captain Tom

@MrsFrisbyMouse

Enough of people really not understanding the concept of exponential growth. It doesn't just mean fast, once it gets going it means stupidly fast... a fact that caught the politicians out not once, but twice. (Hence the extreme caution about coming out of this lockdown.)
Yes enough of this.

This virus has only ever spread exponentially in the literal sense for a very short timeframe. Or else we would all have had it.

confuseddotcom090 · 17/02/2021 20:51

@WhirlingGerbil

Enough of people saying things like "only 118k have died".

Desensitised much? It's insane.

ENOUGH of people who don't understand that excess mortality last year was within historic (past 20 year) norms and was nothing remarkable. ENOUGH with your ill informed world view!

Possibly because we have been in national “lockdown” since December? Which was sort of the point 🤷‍♀️

MercyBooth · 17/02/2021 20:53

Enough of being told we are all in it together when its clear that we are not

sleepwouldbenice · 17/02/2021 20:54

Enough.... of people spouting crap with alternative theories about how to deal with this (e.g. lock away the vulnerable) or there's only been X number of deaths, without any proper evidence of how their magical alternative would work

MercyBooth · 17/02/2021 20:58

Enough of it being illegal to get a haircut when its fucking obvious that footballers and celebs are having theirs done.
Enough of being told we all have to protect each other when really its about protecting our "betters"

SpringtimeBluebells · 17/02/2021 21:05

Lots of hairdressers are going home to home now since they cannot work from their salon..... where do you think those football players are getting their hair cut.
I know several, and lash techs etc

Yes this ENOUGH OF ALL THE MOANING MINIES LOCK DOWN LOVERS

I've bloody had covid, all my kids have had it, the whole school had it a whole year ago! Everyone over 50 has had a jab here!!!
Enough now!

SpringtimeBluebells · 17/02/2021 21:08

Some people really do appear to love lock down others hate it and either end struggle with the other extreme

picknmix1984 · 17/02/2021 21:09

Enough of locking teens away and preventing them from growing and developing and flourishing.

sleepwouldbenice · 17/02/2021 21:26

Enough of people using the phrase lock down lovers
Utter crock of crap

hamstersarse · 17/02/2021 21:34

Enough of saying that lockdown lovers don’t exist. I literally read posts everyday from people saying how much they love it. And obviously how resilient they must be because they love their little cages where no one can bother them

Hammonds · 17/02/2021 21:55

Enough of people with secure jobs/regular money not giving a shit about people losing their businesses and homes

Enough of GMTV presenters pushing their own narratives whilst they sit safe in their cushy jobs spreading fear

Enough of children not being able to attend school and missing out on REAL education and development

Enough of teachers pretending they want to go back to school and give up WFH ( that might just be on MN though)

Enough of people welcoming longer lockdowns

Enough of people spouting ‘protect the elderly’ when the elderly have been rotting away with advancing dementia brought on by isolation from their family.

Enough of never being able to speak about how you feel as you get called ‘murder’ or ‘dim’

Enough of SAGE members going on talk shows saying we need longer lockdown when LAST YEAR he was a talk show saying they DO NOT WORK ( bad news sells better)

Enough of moving the goal posts!

For once I’m GLAD a Tory party are in because of Labour was in we would never be out of it till we were all living in cardboard boxes.

MartinAtAFuneral · 17/02/2021 21:56

Yes this

Well said.
GetOffYourHighHorse · 17/02/2021 22:01

'Enough of saying that lockdown lovers don’t exist. I literally read posts everyday from people saying how much they love it'

Hmm how very odd. I've never seen one post stating anyone 'loved' lockdown. Rather some of us can understand it is necessary or else, as has been said a trillion times, we may not get the emergency medical care we need were we to say have a car accident.

15k cases today, it was around 1k last July so i can't anything opening up in a hurry so yes you do need to develop some coping strategies hamster or else you may combust with indignation.

hamstersarse · 17/02/2021 22:19

@GetOffYourHighHorse

12718 cases today, but don’t let that get in the way of your narrative.

You know and I know there are posts everyday where people comment about how much they like lockdown. That’s up to them, but don’t try and convince me that that is normal and everyone needs to agree with them.

I know you try and influence people in constantly taking about whether there will be a bed for them should they have a car accident etc etc , but it’s a balance. Remember that? Some people may have the privilege of savings and comfort, many don’t. Also many value life before we all inevitably die.

I don’t know you, but whenever I read your posts I wonder “what is it with her....where is this disproportionate fear and anger coming from?”

🤷‍♀️

Ormally · 17/02/2021 22:20

Enough of shit stirring. Enough of rising to it.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 17/02/2021 22:27

'don’t know you, but whenever I read your posts I wonder “what is it with her....where is this disproportionate fear and anger coming from?”

Do you really wonder? I'm a very interesting person it is true. However I'm not angry or living in fear rather, as I've said, able to understand the need for restrictions in a pandemic.

Things are looking tentatively hopeful, do try and hang on to that.

TempsPerdu · 17/02/2021 22:33

Enough of the idea that the normal, averagely virtuous person can be expected to give up a huge number of things valuable to them, for an indefinite length of time, to save the lives people they don't know.

Amen to that. My human altruism is finite and at this point is pretty much spent. It’s not my own sacrifices that concern me but my child’s. I’m just not willing to sacrifice her long-term wellbeing for the greater good - if that makes me selfish then so be it.

DirtyDancing · 17/02/2021 22:49

Enough eating.

All I seem to do is eat. Enough now dirty, you’ll be as big as the house you are confined to at this rate.

Figmentofmyimagination · 17/02/2021 22:58

Enough of overly hairy dog.
