How much longer do you think Sturgeon will keep Scotland locked down after England? I know everything is speculation now, but even last year we didn’t have the “rule of 6” up here and we seem to have things a bit tougher.

I’m getting worried for so many friends and family and although I know eventually things will improve, it feels very much at the moment that Scotland is going to be held back. Many predict no indoor mixing until next year!

This is just so depressing and soul destroying

. What is the point in the vaccinations being rolled out? If existing is to continue this way indefinitely with only a few restrictions lifted, why are they even vaccinating people? This is doing nothing for anyone.

I am so on the brink of the edge with how I’m dealing with this. I just can’t carry on. My kid’s futures are just completely hopeless. I feel so guilty and so bad for them.

We have no money, no future, no hope. How do we secure any kind of future for our children? This is just destroying so many lives and it’s going to tear through so many more. It’s damaged society beyond repair.

Same @mumwalk. I don't even care about me and how I'm coping at this point, my child needs school.

RedPaperLantern · 17/02/2021 14:27

I wish she’s gone a bit further in her quest to be Jacinda Ardem actually. And that we were in a similar position to NZ now.

@mumwalk

"It was said yesterday that they will review after two weeks, but that it's unlikely that any other groups will return before 15th March at the earliest."

So if they don't go back around 15th March the it's mid-April at the earliest. Don't know how much longer my kids can cope with this, so another 2 months seem impossible just now.

Yeah I get it. We are just stumbling through, and know we are lucky that I am at home anyway so am available to help my children. I've an S1 who is really, really struggling and was able to bimble along a day at a time, knowing it could change soon. Faced with the realisation that we've almost definitely got at least a month ahead, more than likely at least two.... not gonna lie, my head is minced. She was struggling with school pre-lockdown anyway, so hasn't really been at school since October, the longer she is out, the harder it will be to get her back in. Sad

Feeling absolutely floored by at least 15 March. This lockdown has truly broken all 3 of us. With the added delight of me going through cancer treatment during this shit show as well. Sad

At least I had the 1st part of my vaccine last Saturday.

I wish we’d managed to get to an NZ position too, but we didn’t and now that ship has sailed.

It feels increasingly like the government see 2021 as a second chance at doing 2020 ‘right’ this time by doing everything they wish they’d done before. But we aren’t in 2020 now. We’ve got nearly 25% of the population vaccinated, we should have all the over 50s done by Easter at current rates, all adults who want one getting at least a first dose by early summer. And we’re still talking about moving slower and more cautiously than last time and only ‘maybe’ allowing holidays in Scotland in summer? Why?

The vaccine rollout is a huge success but it feels like they’re not tying it to their out-of-lockdown strategy at all, and it’s a bit odd. I do not think there will be much public appetite to abide by ongoing restrictions once covid deaths drop by 99% and the people who would have died have all been vaccinated, and I don’t think “but we sort of wish we’d got to New Zealand last year” is going to wash with the electorate as a reason to do it come May.

RedPaperLantern · 17/02/2021 23:29

Stop ranting your nonsense at me @GoldenOmber.

I’m not proposing what I said be an election strategy for the SNP.

Er, okay?
