My parents got a phone call from their GP hub (over 80)
Two clinically extremely vulnerable people I know got a text from their GP inviting them to use a booking link.
I got an email with a link to book (through work)

So it varies.

Fairystory · 14/02/2021 19:01

Phone call. I’m a NHS critical care nurse.

FadedRed · 14/02/2021 19:08

I got an ‘NHS’ text message with a link to ‘Swiftqueue’ website, DH got a letter with a different NHS website address, my friend got a text message from GP surgery and had to phone them. All go to same GP so no idea why each invitation was different, all went to the same hub vaccination centre.

PuzzledObserver · 14/02/2021 19:08

Text:

Dear Mrs Observer, on behalf of YourTown Primary Care Network you have been invited to book your first Covid-19 vaccination at....

And a link.

Hobbes8 · 14/02/2021 19:12

There’s different booking systems for different centres. The “mass” vaccination sites (which includes pharmacy so aren’t all big sites) are sending letters with a link to book online of advice to call 119 to book over the phone.

The GP/PCN sites aren’t on that booking system. Most are using a text message booking system which sends a text message with a link to book online. They are following this up with phone calls or letters to the patients who don’t have a mobile.

God knows why the two systems can’t talk to each other.

Text from my GP

Social Services letter to my employer. Employer notified me and took some details needed which were passed to social services. Social services then emailed me with a link to a booking system. The booking system then emailed me confirmation of booking.

Text from my GP

fistasledge · 14/02/2021 19:19

I've had all three as I'm CEV

Phonecall from the hospital where I'm an out patient
Letter from my GP (after I'd had it)
Text from NHS also after I'd had it

Was pleased they're obviously trying all routes to contact people

Huggabugga · 14/02/2021 19:21

Group 6 here - DH was rung by one of the GPs at our surgery and she booked him into the local hub. He then passed the phone to me and she booked me in as well. She rang at 10am and we had our vaccines by 11.15am!

EmmanuelleMakro · 14/02/2021 19:23

Parents (80s) had phone call from GP in December.
Teacher colleagues who volunteered to go into work to supervise KW children had texts last week.

Morporkia · 14/02/2021 19:27

Husband got a call on his mobile, missed it and within a minute the landline phone was ringing. GP surgery (vaccination hub) just offered him the vaccine and gave him an appointment later in the week. Mum and dad got texts telling them to go through the NHS vaccination booking service. They were able to book for the following day (a Sunday)

newyeardelurker · 14/02/2021 19:38

Text from gp surgery with a link

user1477249785 · 14/02/2021 20:07

DH, group 6, got a text

Oblomov21 · 14/02/2021 20:38

Phone call from vaccination centre: can you be here in 20 minutes? Yes, I said, I'm on my way.

Summerflowers101 · 14/02/2021 23:31

I got a text from my GP to book but got the vaccine at my hospital. Then my GP surgery called a week or so later asking if I would have the jab and I said I had it. Then I got a letter inviting me from the national booking service!
