Healthcare staff - have you had your second dose?

Just wondering if those working in healthcare, have had their second dose? I know lots of people have had their second dose cancelled in order to get as many vaccinated as possible, but I hope this doesn't apply to staff who have regular contact with covid patients.

no. HCP our hospital is delaying 2nd dose for 10 to 12 weeks

trumpisaflump · 20/01/2021 16:18

No. I work in covid ICU. Got my first dose on 15th Dec and my second dose was cancelled. No date yet.

DarcyJack · 20/01/2021 16:19

Yes 2nd pfizer

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/01/2021 16:22

My mum works on hospital wards and isn't having the second dose until March.

Nonamesavail · 20/01/2021 16:22

Only just had 1st

Musicaltheatremum · 20/01/2021 16:26

Had my first 21/12 second delayed. My colleagues who had it 10 days earlier got their 2nd ones.

Fiadh79 · 20/01/2021 17:21

I haven't even had the first dose yet. It has only just become available to me. I see a large number of confirmed COVID patients, some undergoing AGPs, every day.

As I understand it, the second dose will be 11 weeks after the first.

CommanderBurnham · 20/01/2021 17:41

I've only had my first yesterday and they were like we're not sure how you're going to be contacted about your second.

I had the Pfizer and don't trust this government to secure enough second doses and if they do, how successful it is.

I took the jab because short term, I don't want to get Covid severely if I do get it, and to play my part in getting us out of this pandemic.

Let's see what happens and keep each other informed.

Not yet

WhydoesItAlwaysRainMe · 20/01/2021 17:43

Had my first last week, second booked in for April - 12 weeks after first dose

AKissAndASmile · 20/01/2021 17:49

they were like we're not sure how you're going to be contacted about your second.

This is what I was told. They said 'maybe your GP will tell you when to come for your next dose'. i can't see why. because my forst dose was arranged through work, not my GP. I'm not going to get a second dose, am I?! Confused

Hitsnooze · 20/01/2021 17:56

Had 1st dose this week. Second is booked for mid april

girlofthenorth · 20/01/2021 21:19

Had fist dose Pfizer but second dose is delayed .

No chance! Agency nurse here, doing covid testing in schools when open, and nights in A&E when not. I’ve heard nothing and don’t expect to. I wasn’t eligible for a covid test in the first wave either when all my colleagues were, or for an antibody test.

LickYouLikeACrispPacket · 20/01/2021 21:34

Was due to have my 2nd dose on the 10th January and it was cancelled. Supposedly postponed for 12 weeks but I am not getting my hopes up! We have COVID patients on my ward.

Littleguggi · 20/01/2021 21:37

When I booked for the AZ jab, I was automatically given a date 12 weeks later. Only just had the first dose.

Meant to say, I’ve not even been contacted about the first one yet.
Sootess · 20/01/2021 21:57

No. 1st dose Pfizer last week and no date for 2nd yet.
Our hospital only did 2nd dose for appointments in 1st week January, everyone else got theirs cancelled.

QueenOfTheDoubleWide · 20/01/2021 21:58

Primary Care staff here. I had my first Pfizer, second should have been this week but cancelled. No dates given for next jab and I have heard rumours that we may not get the second and they might keep trying to get more first doses out
Either way I am just relieved to have had one as I would be way down the pecking order otherwise

Elouera · 20/01/2021 22:03

@Howmanysleepsnow- I hear you! I too havent even been contacted about my 1st vaccine!

I'm agency too. GP says agency should give it, agency says GP should give it. Both private and NHS places I work say its not them either!

Nope - 1st dose today, appointment given for second dose in exactly 12 weeks before I left. I am worried to be honest. Israel are reporting only 33% immunity after one dose.
