I'm feeling extremely down today - crying, the works - just feel so miserable about the whole scenario. Has anyone got any good news to give us all to make us feel better?

I'm sorry I haven't but bumping for you

Flaxmeadow · 17/01/2021 15:06

Yes the vaccine programme is going really well. Over 4 million vaccine shots given in the UK, which is great going for the time period and can only increase per day because the infrastructure is in place and so will be more organised and efficient as the days go by

Come join everyone on the good news thread 😊😊 I refuse to look at any other thread now, hate seeing all the doom mongers insisting that life will be shit forever!

The vaccine counter on sky news app is great.

niceupthedance · 17/01/2021 15:20

I saw magnolia buds on a tree today, spring is on the way

The end is in sight op Flowers

There was a thread yesterday where they said 1 in 19 have now had the first vaccine

Bubbinsmakesthree · 17/01/2021 15:21

The number of new infections in my area of London (which was previously in the top 10 areas in the country) has halved in the past fortnight.

Theunamedcat · 17/01/2021 15:22

My pants still have some more stretch in them and I've not finished the Christmas chocolates yet

lunar1 · 17/01/2021 15:23

Over 1 in 19 people in the uk have had the vaccine.

reformedcharacters · 17/01/2021 15:26

Spring is in sight and more people have had the first dose of vaccine as have tested positive.

DayBath · 17/01/2021 15:28

News today is all adults to be given the first dose of vaccine by September, possibly earlier!!

Freetodowhatiwant · 17/01/2021 15:37

I saw daffodils in the park today and every week it’s a good 15 minutes lighter each day.

MagicSummer · 17/01/2021 15:40

Aaaah these are all nice comments - thank you! We get our first pre-8 am sunrise tomorrow!

Our local Superdrug is administering the vaccine and I actually got a bit teary walking past this morning and seeing people inside waiting for the vacc. So nice to have tears of joy for a change (sorry a bit corny)

Subordinatethatclause · 17/01/2021 16:06

Jumping on board here. I could have written your post OP. Don't know whether to cry or hide or cry AND hide atm. Mental health in the gutter. Loving the positive thoughts.

longtimemarried · 17/01/2021 16:10

Magic - having been ill for some weeks my son is at last making a recovery from Covid, this is the best news ever!

FuzzyPuffling · 17/01/2021 16:16

I have lost almost a stone in weight (through diet and exercise in a sensible way) and am half way to my target weight.

Since vaccine roll out is slow as hell here and cases are rising alarmingly (to the level of London's worst) it's the best news I can muster!

Baileysforchristmas · 17/01/2021 16:56

My parents had the vaccine today Smile

Mousehole10 · 17/01/2021 18:23

Cases are dropping, vaccinations going up. I was feeling really down before but starting to see the light at the end. Nearly there.

Jaffacakeinmypocket · 17/01/2021 19:11

My DM (age 93) had her first vaccination yesterday. I got quite emotional when we were in the hub, seeing all the over 80s eagerly turning up to have their jab and all the staff working so hard to organise everything Smile

AnyFucker · 17/01/2021 19:13

Some high up medical guy on the news this morning said they are currently vaccinating four times the number of new covid infections

That gave me a little bit of cheer

Spidertom1 · 17/01/2021 19:16

My dsis has covid but is improving. She works in NHS and had her first jab last week. I am so happy because she is my only sibling and we have a tiny family. Love her so much

Whirlwind14 · 17/01/2021 19:51

Look at the Guardian UK covid map and soak up all that ‘blue’ which means cases are decreasing just about everywhere!

Whirlwind14 · 17/01/2021 19:52

@Spidertom1 great news Flowers
