Where they're up to with vaccinations locally?

Does anybody know where I can find this information. I read posters on other threads saying 'In my area they're vaccinating over 70s now' etc. I'm just wondering if they only know from personal experience, or if there's some way of finding out?

Nationally they are still in cohorts 1&2. But GP practices can go down if they have completed these groups and would otherwise waste vaccine. In dispersed populations like a small town or village it would be difficult to get through additional boxes of Pfizer without going down a group. But I think most areas are now finishing off the over 80’s and care homes. They will be moving down in a week or so. Letters will be going out soon.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/01/2021 19:52

My grandfather is 78 and he hasn't heard anything yet so I'm guessing they haven't got there yet in my area. Everyone I personally know over 80 and health care staff have had theirs.

lljkk · 16/01/2021 19:54

Very discussed on my local facebook! So easy to know here.

Crazycatlady83 · 16/01/2021 19:54

Sorry OP I am one of those people who has said this. This is just from my personal experience (DH has been volunteering in a vaccine centre so pretty accurate) and reports on FB (probably not as accurate!!)

SingANewSongChickenTikka · 16/01/2021 19:57

Our GP surgery is doing local community vaccinations (NHS are being done at the hospital) and they’re giving updates on their Facebook page every couple of days. We have another vaccination hub opening locally soon though so not sure how useful the information will be then as presumably the case load will be split accordingly. It’s great to see the updates though, really encouraging.

Hmmph · 16/01/2021 19:58

My doctors surgery has changed it’s webpage from vaccinating over 80s to vaccinating over 75s. Try look at you GP website/ other local GP websites.

Randomrebel · 16/01/2021 19:59

I know a few over 80’s have had theirs MIL’s was today, don’t know any over 70’s who have had appointments in my area yet.

soundofsilence1 · 16/01/2021 20:04

It seems to be a complete postcode lottery. My Nan who is in her 90s in London has not heard anything yet however my MIL who is in her early 70s and lives in Milton Keynes has a date.

I’ve just asked this on another thread, silly me for not checking elsewhere.

After reading one of the responses here I checked my GP’s website and they’re getting their first vaccines in this weekend.

PedrosPony · 16/01/2021 20:25

My area has just announced they have nearly done 1&2 and are starting to make appointments for cohort 3 next week. Which surprises me as we have a much higher proportion of older residents here.

redsquirrelfan · 16/01/2021 21:23

most areas are now finishing off the over 80’s and care homes

Where my mum lives in Devon they don't even appear to have started. She has a friend who's nearly 90 and he's not heard anything either.

They're only just starting the over 80s in my area.

RosesAndHellebores · 16/01/2021 22:30

Mother is 84, as are many of her friends, and none of them have yet been contacted. Thanet.

All of our friends' parents over 80 have been contacted or have had the jab. Herts, London, Sussex, Yorkshire, Oxford, Bucks. MIL was offered Pfizer weeks ago but couldn't have it due to allergies. Was due to have Oxford today and was offered a taxi but due to ice couldn't manage the steps outside her house.

Rates have been so high in Thanet and Swale yet it seems the forgotten area. I have told mother if she hasn't heard by next weekend I shall wrote to her MP.

FloraFocus · 16/01/2021 22:43

GP webpage.

FloraFocus · 16/01/2021 22:45

They don't expect to finish over 80s for another two weeks in my parents' area

bobbiester · 16/01/2021 22:46

In some places they are on to Group 3 - over 75s

bobbiester · 16/01/2021 22:47

I know over 75s who had theirs today.

FloraFocus · 16/01/2021 22:47

And it's SMS or phone calls from the GP there.
We were worried about letters as royal mail are barely delivering since new year!

NickMarlow · 16/01/2021 22:52

I'm North West, near 2 different NHS trusts. One has just started 75-79s this week, the other is finishing over 80s.

middleager · 16/01/2021 22:54

In my area (Birmingham) FIL 83 had his first lot in the first week of rollout.
They are now onto my relatives who are all 76 and aim to have all over 70s done by the 26th Jan.

middleager · 16/01/2021 22:58

The Midlands has administered the most though, so that is why we may be on the mid 70s. Local tables here:

news.sky.com/story/covid-19-more-than-2-3m-vaccine-jabs-given-across-england-as-midlands-leads-the-way-12187569

Sunnysausage · 16/01/2021 23:05

Isn’t it a bit ridiculous that there are unvaccinated 90 yos, yet over 75s are being done elsewhere? Why don’t they redistribute the vaccine? My DF is 81 with no date yet and we’re beginning to worry...

Jumbojem · 16/01/2021 23:13

Locally they are on the 75-79 age group. Our medical practice update local FB pages. My in laws in Devon are 80+ and getting theirs next week, I assumed theirs was later as lower risk area combined with an older demographic. Either way I'm really impressed at the speed of roll out.

Jumbojem · 16/01/2021 23:14

Conversely, my parents are 60+ and live in France. They know of no one who has had a vaccine and have no idea when they will get one.

tiredteacher8 · 16/01/2021 23:18

Derbyshire & my 94 year old grandad hasn't heard anything. My 81 year old FIL has is tomorrow & my NHS worker brother has his on mon. No idea how it's being organised
