It says you can’t meet anyone else socially, but you can meet someone for exercise, but you can’t meet anyone from outside your household. So yeah, it’s clear as mud Hmm

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 04/01/2021 22:35

I think that’s gone and is no longer allowed.

Katie517 · 04/01/2021 22:36

You can meet one other person outside for exercise. Under 5s not mentioned but I am assuming my 5month old baby does not count. A group of female MPs campaigned for them to be excluded in the November lockdown and they have tweeted to say they are doing the same again. Just remember the rules are there to prevent or reduce transmission and in my opinion me taking a 5month old in a pram on a walk with my friend is no more of a risk than me going on my own. The risk to my mental health of not being able to do this is huge so I will be doing it regardless.

CabinClose · 04/01/2021 22:36

I think because you can only meet a person for exercise, then the expectation is that you wouldn’t take along an under 5 for exercise.

Katie517 · 04/01/2021 22:38

CabinClose That’s not true taking a baby out for a walk/jog with a buggy is exercise

Sitt · 04/01/2021 22:38

A walk is exercise

Why would j not take my 11m old and 2 Yr old for a walk for excercise? I always do and often for up to 2 hours.
Normally meet 1 friend who has a 1 Yr old in a pushchair. Outside in the Forrest area or green area.
As under 5s weren't counted in the Nov lockdown. But couldnt meet if mine or her husband was there.

I'd like to know this too!

Sitt · 04/01/2021 22:42

How about if I do a few lunges first, will that be ok with the exercise police? It’s actually a positive thing that people are trying to stay fit

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 04/01/2021 22:52

You are still allowed a support bubble if you have a baby under one.

So you can meet someone else as long as always the same person.

Or you can meet someone else from another household for exercise.

A baby in a pushchair doesn't get counted as a person in this scenario.

ImHereForTheEntertainment · 04/01/2021 22:54

Thank you. It was the baby in pushchair bit I couldn't see guidance on.

Nor did I see it say had to be same person.. Although for me it is anyway.

We have a support bubble and a childcare bubble.

I'm Not moaning or complaining I just wanted to make sure I got it right as I find it all confusing sometimes.

Didn’t say I agreed with it, I just think that’s the thinking behind it. The only outdoor exercise I’ll be doing will involve walking with my under 5.

KitKatastrophe · 04/01/2021 22:57

It doesn't say they are excluded. Previously the guidance specifically said they were not included in the rule. They may amend this (hopefully) but at the moment it seems you can only meet one person.

Mousehole10 · 04/01/2021 22:58

It not allowed in the new guidance. Hopefully this will change. I’ll be ignoring it until it does though, can’t see that my baby in a pram causes any more risk.

I can't see where it says has to be the same person either. But like I said I only meet the same person for a walk in the Forrest or green area. But if it has to stop then that's fair enough

OP posts:
ImHereForTheEntertainment · 04/01/2021 22:59

I reckon they may amend it. As would affect so many people. Lots of parents at home with toddlers and babies. A walk with a friend and prams is a good thing.

It says you can meet one person to exercise. Children under certain age (11?) don't count so you could meet a friend for a walk with the kids as that is exercise.
