Group of 10 teenagers 😲😲😲!

Surely in a Tier 4 area, groups of ten teenagers shouldn't meet up to go sledging down a private field? There was zero social distancing too!

Did you call the police?

annevonkleve · 02/01/2021 18:05

Was it an organised activity? If so, it's allowed.

Can't say it sounds like it was "organised" though.

MadameButterface · 02/01/2021 18:07

Did you say anything to them? How old were they? Tbh I couldn’t really get worked up about this, depending on their age they’ll be back in school shortly with zero social distancing possible there too, except that’s indoors and goes on all day.

Heathercob · 02/01/2021 18:07

No, because I didn't have a phone on me, and by the time I'd have got home, they'd have probably gone!
I did shout at them to stop though, especially as it was scaring my horse, and I didn't want her slipping and hurting herself, but they completely ignored me.

Unless they were your teenagers then it's not really any of your business.

Helenluvsrob · 02/01/2021 18:09

Of course not but it’s hardly a high risk activity unless they passing round a shared spliff of bottle of vodka .

Outside in the freezing cold where the main focus is rushing up and down the hill ? They aren’t even standing about chatting or stilling on each other’s laps as the teens “ picnicking “ in the parks in summer were.

Sorry can’t get my Pearl clutching out for this.

OverTheRainbow88 · 02/01/2021 18:09

Don’t see how that’s any different to the football training of about 20 teenagers on the field by us today.

Audreyhelp · 02/01/2021 18:11

Just mind your own business or was you worried about your horse ?

dementedpixie · 02/01/2021 18:12

They are outdoors having fun, leave them alone

Rosehip10 · 02/01/2021 18:12

Why do some horse riders think the world has to revolve around them and their animals?

shinynewapple2021 · 02/01/2021 18:12

Were they all in the same sledge?

MadameButterface · 02/01/2021 18:14

Expecting teenagers not to go out and play in the snow, especially when playing outside is literally the only thing they’re even vaguely allowed to do, is a bit unrealistic

Timewasyesterday · 02/01/2021 18:14

Whilst schools are still open I can’t get worked up about teens mixing tbh

Imissmoominmama · 02/01/2021 18:14

@annevonkleve- are all organised outdoor activities allowed in tier 4? My walking group has stopped, and we never had more than 10.

Hercules12 · 02/01/2021 18:15

Is this what the world had come to? Questioning whether police should be called to a small group of teenagers sledging outside?

Hercules12 · 02/01/2021 18:15

has

Feministicon · 02/01/2021 18:17

Get aerated about the group of twatty adults screaming outside St Thomas’s on NYE

dingit · 02/01/2021 18:18

Ffs op. Get off Mumsnet moaning and go and do something more interesting instead Grin

NotYourHolidayDick · 02/01/2021 18:18

Fgs, my kids are back into a bubble of 200 next week. My lad is still football training 4 times a week too.

I’d have been loving watching them have good old fashioned fun on a sledge. Good for them!

pursuedbyablackdog · 02/01/2021 18:19

Was it you field?

TheGreatWave · 02/01/2021 18:19

No they shouldn't be, but you already knew that.

Who's field is it? And it is probably a good idea to carry a phone with you anyway.

VenusTiger · 02/01/2021 18:20

Walk a mile in their shoes OP - how do you know they haven't already had Covid?? if you watch 'the telly' you'll realise we've all had it twice!!
This is inhuman - they're outside. Just stop it.

Lovemusic33 · 02/01/2021 18:22

Soon they will be back to school and mixing indoors so I don’t really see the issue. I have seen loads of teenagers mixing but tbh I can’t imagine how I would have felt at that age being stuck indoors with my parents and not being out with my friends.

MadameButterface · 02/01/2021 18:24

Back in summer, someone in my local fb group posted an angry rant plus photos trying to shame a large group of teenagers they’d seen meeting up in the park earlier that day. It turned out that another one of their friends had taken his own life the day before and that was why they’d met up and were hugging etc. It’s been very difficult for kids all this.

lljkk · 02/01/2021 18:26

Pffft... you're right OP about letter of rules say shouldn't happen but .. .I couldn't report them myself.
