Hi all,

I know there are loads of these already but thought it might be good to start one for today....so many of us are testing now..

My DH actually tested positive yesterday, had a lateral flow done as he's a tradesman and has been feeling off for a few days. So he had to book a PCR and couldn't get one until today.

I had an upset stomach and headache so thought I should book a test to.

We also booked tests for our 3 kids, one is 23 and has a slight cough and is sneezing. The other 2 have no symptoms so far.

We had a friend ( we are her support bubble) stay 24-26th really hoping she's ok.

I feel so tired, nauseous and just want to lie down. Will be very surprised if I am not positive.

We had our tests at 10 thus morning, hoping to get them tomorrow but we are in east London so know they can take a long time at the moment...

We're in the same position. DH received positive test late Christmas Day after a high temperature prompted a test. Virtually symptom free ever since and now happily working from home.
Myself & 2 sons had tests on Sunday 4pm - I just lost my appetite completely and slight cough. Younger DS (21) has had temperature & other 23 nothing. Feeling very anxious.

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 13:03

@Smashedavacado 🤞 you don't get any more symptoms..

That is good that your husband is doing ok...

Hoping the kids aren't positive

How come you got tests when not all of you have main three symptoms? Also have you told the friend that stayed that your husband tested positive, so they need to isolate as well as all of you.

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 13:46

@Mindymomo yes of course we have told our friend... She is testing today.

We are in East London, they are doing community testing here now so we can get tests without having the '3 symptoms'

This new variant seems to have so many symptoms that are not the main 3-maybe the other variants have to and that is why it has spread so much.

I am involved with social care and the rate of picking up asymptomatic positives via routine testing is great ( stopping spread) but also scary in the level of infection out there that is unknown without testing....

My dad had a test yesterday. He's either got covid or a very bad chest infection as she's laid up in bed and coughing a lot. Same household so we will need to isolate also. Fingers crossed for him and everything else x

bathsh3ba · 29/12/2020 14:18

I tested at 10am this morning. Had mild cold symptoms (blocked nose, sore throat) since Christmas Eve but overnight woke up in a sweat. No fever according to thermometer but decided I should test. No cough yet. Sense of smell is slightly dulled. maybe just due to blocked nose, but still there, sense of taste normal. My two DDs have no symptoms.

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 14:32

@desperatelyseeking1

Hope your dad is ok.. at least you will know soon..

@bathsh3ba that's how my husband started, hopefully you test negative or get very mild symptoms

My husband tested positive on 21st. My sons and I had symptoms in the following days and had a test at 10.00 on Boxing Day at a drive in centre in North London. We are still waiting for our results 76 hours later. I know they insist you wait up to 6 days before seeing if it's lost and there are thousands of tests at the moment but we just want to know. I'm pretty certain I have it and we are isolating anyway but I'm starting to give up hope of hearing anything.

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 14:50

@MrsWonderland that is such a long wait. Hope you get a result soon

*@funkystars123 * we just heard. Myself and DS2 are positive as feared. DS1 has had exactly the same exposure so think he's probably immune as believes he had covid in the early days.
Feeling desperately anxious about what's to come

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 15:55

@Smashedavacado sorry to hear that... Hopefully your symptoms won't get worse.. how are you feeling now?

We tested on Christmas Eve, South East London. Results are only just coming in now. My son negative, mine was positive. Still waiting on OH and daughter’s results.

I've not been too bad, just a headache and tired but OH has been terrible and can’t get out of bed! Headache, cough, tight chest and the shakes.

Our Christmas was a bit rubbish though but will make up for it once OH is better.

Smashedavacado · 29/12/2020 17:21

@funkystars123 thanks I just feel anxious more than anything. I'm a real over thinker at the best of times! Hope yours come back clear soon.

Pastanred · 29/12/2020 17:22

I got my result today -6 days after testing

Smashedavacado · 29/12/2020 17:27

@Peasinthefreezer
Isn't it strange having a mixture of negative & positive in the same household.
My son who is negative is not isolating in his room and ventures out carefully for food etc. In the past this would be been his preferred existence but not now. It's his birthday on the 3rd too!
Hope you & your family feeling better soon

Smashedavacado · 29/12/2020 17:28

Meant "now" isolating.

danadas · 29/12/2020 17:29

Hope those feeling ill recover soon.

My mum got a shock positive yesterday (shock because she had no symptoms). My Dad had a test but no results yet. Our house now needs to test as we spent a couple of hours on Christmas day with them. My OH is in bed with a bad stomach and headache but he thinks that is IBS related.

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 17:32

@Peasinthefreezer @Smashedavacado

It's so strange to get these mixed results, I am sure that I will be positive- feel so rubbish. But the 3 kids a seem fine... will see what comes...

Hope everyone doesn't feel to I'll, I am worried about my husband he is very big- lost a lot if weight earlier this year but has put it all back on..... just hoping we stay like this

Friolero · 29/12/2020 17:34

DS and I tested positive a week ago. DH and other DS now feeling ill so have tested today.

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 17:37

@Friolero hope you feel ok

bathsh3ba · 29/12/2020 17:46

This is a weird question but does anyone else feel like they are producing excess saliva? It's weird, I keep having to swallow it. It's not mucousy. I'm worried this is a sign I'm going to get fluid on my lungs or something but I'm not short of breath.

Friolero · 29/12/2020 18:38
@Friolero hope you feel ok
Thank you. I'm slowly improving, mainly feeling exhausted now.

monkeypuzzeltree · 29/12/2020 20:07

After much refreshing of the page for a day and a half I finally managed to get tested near me today- up until then it was going to be an 80mile round trip. Chaos in Kent/Sussex.

All 4 of us tested. Originally was just going to test DH and I as we are feeling particularly rough but while waiting to find a test both kids started complaining of headaches, got temps and coughing.

Desperately hoping it's regular lurgy, feel rubbish. My eyeballs ache like mad!

funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 20:24

@bathsh3ba we don't have that here...we are out of breath easily though.. hoping it's not going to get worse

OP posts:
funkystars123 · 29/12/2020 20:26

@monkeypuzzeltree we have all tested... hb and I have symptoms, eldest dd (23) is sneezing a bit... other two seem ok for now.

I am expecting me and DH to be positive and kids negative.
