Waiting for results... tested on 29th Dec...

Hi all,

I know there are loads of these already but thought it might be good to start one for today....so many of us are testing now..

My DH actually tested positive yesterday, had a lateral flow done as he's a tradesman and has been feeling off for a few days. So he had to book a PCR and couldn't get one until today.

I had an upset stomach and headache so thought I should book a test to.

We also booked tests for our 3 kids, one is 23 and has a slight cough and is sneezing. The other 2 have no symptoms so far.

We had a friend ( we are her support bubble) stay 24-26th really hoping she's ok.

I feel so tired, nauseous and just want to lie down. Will be very surprised if I am not positive.

We had our tests at 10 thus morning, hoping to get them tomorrow but we are in east London so know they can take a long time at the moment...

Mine just came back negative - took 20 hours, South West.

MrsWonderland · 30/12/2020 11:01

All positive. Took 4 full days for results - and that's at a drive in centre.

TallTowerFan · 30/12/2020 11:08

We also tested yesterday in East London. We did them via post though , our samples were recieved at about 8pm at the lab.

My husband and I have similar symptoms. Aches , chills , terrible headache, sore eyes. I also have a rash on my face but my husband doesn't.

I hope all of your results come back soon , fingers crossed for a negative for you all.

When my daughter tested back in October it took 3 days once they'd recieved her sample to text and email results.

Mrsfussypants1 · 30/12/2020 11:12

DH and I are have a test booked today at 12.30. I have a cough, tired, headache, sinus pain. I'm not sure if its covid or the start of sinusitis. I'm so pleased we kept to ourselves at Christmas.

funkystars123 · 30/12/2020 12:39

We just got results...

My husband is positive- we expected that as he had a positive vis lateral flow...

I am negative- we did not expect that as I have very similar symptoms to him..

Eldest DD and DS are negative

Youngest DD is positive... did not exist that as she has no symptoms. Apart from a runny nose last Tuesday.

We are all going to isolate for 10 days and hope husband stays like he is. Mild symptons.

Thanks for updating op. I hope you're all on the mend soon.

It's bizarre that people from the same household with similar symptoms have different results.

RuthW · 30/12/2020 13:04

My dd had a lateral positive test on Christmas eve and had a positive government test the next day. She only had mild cold symptoms.

I tested neg on Christmas eve and today.

Did you do the swabs yourselves? Is there a chance you didn't swab accurately and it's therefore recording a negative?
monkeypuzzeltree · 30/12/2020 15:42

25 hours since testing and just got one back positive so far for DS. He's feeling the best out of anyone in the house anyway! Wait and see on the rest of us.

funkystars123 · 30/12/2020 16:58

@MrsWonderland I think I may have not swabbed well enough... As we are all isolating I am just going to assume I am positive..

We feel ok but both on the sofa and knackered if we get up, I feel nauseous etc...

The strangest one Is my DD- no symptoms and positive!

The same thing happened to my cousin who had worse symptoms than her positive testing hubby. Track and trace asked her to test again and it came back positive.

Colycola · 31/12/2020 02:50

Tested yesterday, dd already positive.

No result yet but my symptoms are:

Really high temp
Tingly feet I ordered compression socks and am wearing them!
Shivering
Headache
Bit of a cough so far

Do seems to be turning a corner fingers crossed.

TallTowerFan · 31/12/2020 11:13

I'm negative. Took just under 48hrs. My husband's test results have not arrived yet.

funkystars123 · 31/12/2020 15:16

Just been for another test... I feel so Ill today.

Husband is really wiped out and tired but not getting worse- he's on day 8 and is obese so am watching him carefully....

He's lucky to have you!

I'm living on my own & it scares me.

Good move to get tested again. It sounds like it'll come back positive.

Take care of yourselves. At least DD that tested +ve can help you both too

MrsHaversham · 31/12/2020 16:44

@funkystars123 Did you retest due to waiting for results? I sent off a postal test on the 28th and still not heard back. The Royal Mail tracking has said it's been delivered but to the regional Mail Centre! I was wondering if I could book a drive in test as I'm not confident my test has even reached the lab!

MajesticWhine · 31/12/2020 16:53

DD tested on Boxing Day and got her positive result today - 5 days. We are in London. I was a bit surprised how long it took. I hear anecdotally of other tests coming back faster than this.

funkystars123 · 31/12/2020 17:11

@MrsHaversham no we really got our results back yesterday, mine was negative but I feel so rough so booked another test...

Now waiting again..

@WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants

Hope you are ok ...I think the waiting to see how ill you get is the hardest....

monkeypuzzeltree · 31/12/2020 17:28

You're so right 3 out of 4 of us ended up being positive. All I can do is sleep or sit on sofa. I feel a little less breathless today though which is good. Eyeballs still hurt!

Track and trace called me, I almost cried when she said she needed to ask me questions for 40 minutes. She sent me a link to fill in instead- dear god they have made that app poorly.

It's going to be one wild new year in this house!
