God I'm so bored. Everything has been shut here for ages...

Tier 4 in Scotland. Everything except the odd takeaway shut. Can't remember the last time I was out at night. Have met a friend occasionally but it's always cold and wet, park benches etc sodden.

Telly crap and teenagers utterly bored stuff. Uni online and no mixing. A bloody hard life at 19 and 21.

Just want a moan, I know were all feeling it.

Not me and my preteen dc. We are gamers, we are having great time. Grin

Im with you. This weekend I’ve reached the stage of being just utterly utterly fed up with it all. Knowing that a lot of the rest of the UK are out enjoying some normal activities doesn’t help.

West of Scotland winter weather being utter shite too means I’ve barely left these four walls in weeks. Though today was lovely and we did get a nice local walk but I’m so done with local!

Noticed today I hasn't even flipped the family wall calendar over to December because what’s the fecking point.

See if we don’t get out of tier 4 on Friday I’m just going to go ahead and visit family in another area, we’ve been promised short term measure after short term measure since September and it’s just been getting increasingly strict.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:13

My 19 year old is starting to climb the walls. He's got a FT job but that's about it-work & sleep. He plays PS4 a bit with his mates but even that's starting to not hold as much appeal. Technically we (Me, DH and DS2) could go out for a substantial meal (Tier2) but we rattle about this house together all the time anyway so that's no fun.
He wants to see his mates/visit them at Uni/go to the pub.

I want to drive down and visit DS1, technically I could but we would have to meet outside 2 metres apart in the icy drizzle.

I hear you ssd, my friend wants to meet in the park tomorrow, and much as I love her to bits I just don't want to.
I want to see my parents too.

LittleMissLockdown · 06/12/2020 19:13

I feel your pain. I was on maternity lesvr snd now my jobs not required so I'm still at home with the small human, which whilst lovely was not the plan.

We were Tier 3 before the UK lockdown and are still in tier 3 now we are out of lockdown. I'm bored of going to the park, I dream of going somewhere inside and family are missing watching my son grow up. Depressingly the highlight of my week is deciding which supermarket to do the food shop at.

LittleMissLockdown · 06/12/2020 19:16

I noticed the other day ours was still on June. Blush I think subconsciouy my brain was thinking. Well it's not like you need to makr a note of anything important so who cares what month it's on, they all feel the same anyway.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:19

I bought next year's Family Planner calendar thing (with columns for each family member) in September and usually by now I have started to put things on it. Birthdays, appointments, annual leave, etc. It's still in the cellophane. Sad

Lemons1571 · 06/12/2020 19:20

For me, “going out” now means hoovering out the car on the driveway. It’s “outside” so some fresh air, and I find it less depressing than walking the same pavements but in the cold and damp. My world has shrunk beyond belief.

AaronPurr · 06/12/2020 19:27

Are you me 🤣 I plan my supermarket trips like I used to plan nights out / events. Which time would be best, where haven't I been in a while, do I fancy sushi from Tescos or a canoe from Aldi... 😎

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:31

A brand new Home Bargains opened here yesterday. It is the most exciting thing that has happened in this one horse town for years. I know exactly the sort of unnecessary stuff that place sells but would still like to go.

It's so sad but also reassuring that it's not just me. Grin I used to hate doing the food shop now I'm raring to go as it's the only garunteed time I get to myself without the small person.
Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:35

I went to M&S Garage for fuel so that was exciting-their yellow sticker bay was rammed. Grin

Jrobhatch29 · 06/12/2020 19:35

I planned my whole week around a solo, child free trip to home bargains. I was in there ages looking at Christmas stuff and it was the nicest time I've had in ages. How depressing!

Bikingbear · 06/12/2020 19:36

That's pretty much how I feel. I'm starting to think the longer it goes on the more people start ignoring the rules.

Did you buy anything good? I never get out of there without a trolley full of randomness.
ParkheadParadise · 06/12/2020 19:37

Tier 4 here too.
Don't think I can face another visit to Home Bargins. I've been nearly everyday in the last month😂😂.

I forget what it's like to go into a Pub and spend hours sitting having a laugh with friends.

GameSetMatch · 06/12/2020 19:39

I’m so bored too, I can’t even go to the supermarket because DS2 screams he doesn’t want to go shopping ‘again’ and I don’t blame him. We can’t go out for walks as it raining and DS2 refuses to walk or scoot! To make things worse we are getting building work done and the house is surrounded by scaffolding so it feels like a prison.

It's obviously more common that I thought. Grin Did you buy anything exciting?
Gobbledygook20 · 06/12/2020 19:41

Home Bargains is often exciting lol.

Itsalwayssunnyupnorth · 06/12/2020 19:42

Iv got a 5 month old, went to meet a friend that I haven’t seen since may in the park for a walk this morning. I go to this particular park all the time and it has a little cafe that’s doing take out that has been card sales only for months. Got there this morning it was cash only as card machine broken. So neither of us had cash for coffee it was pissing down and I burst out crying! Complete over reaction to rain and lack of caffeine but I’m just over tier 3/covid/lockdown as is everyone!

Porcupineinwaiting · 06/12/2020 19:42

It is tough. My "thing" is going for walks so I've been less affected than most people and even I have days where I want nothing more to spend some time in the warm, maybe some shopping and a coffee. Or meeting up with friends with no computer or rain involved. Bliss.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:43

The Home Bargains in the next town has a freezer section. Is that normal? This new one seems to have a garden centre bit.

Planet42 · 06/12/2020 19:43

We are bored and fed up. Add coronavirus positive, illness and not allowed to go out to the mix.
The stress of hoping that no one gets worse is awful.

ssd · 06/12/2020 19:44

Surely we'll get out of tier 4 on Friday?

I've lost track of the numbers etc right enough

Sb, I love a yellow sticker Grin

Oh god, it's impossible to come out of there without random stuff! I love their gingerbread candles! Also got santa plates, the tattiest crackers I could find, an assortment of gift tags and bows and lighty up rudolph noses for my kids 🤷‍♀️GrinXmas Smile basically crap I don't need haha! Was just so nice to be out (without my kids)

HappygoLucie · 06/12/2020 19:49

With you on that. Been inside since March bar a few supermarket trips. Had some dreaded hospital appointments that I put a full face of makeup on for just to feel like I was going out out! I'm not in tier 4 but high risk so haven't been socialising in person or doing anything even between lockdown. Immensely jealous of everyone my age meeting up with friends, going to restaurants and living normal lives as if nothing's happening. Just moved house to the middle of nowhere though so I've got sheep for company and miles of human-free countryside to enjoy! (the idea of wandering around Home Bargains has me salivating...)
