Are there really people in Britain who think the vaccine will track us?

I keep on hearing that there are people who think that the vaccine is a ploy to inject something into us so that Bill Gates/the govt/someone else can track us.

Do these people really exist is it just an idea someone made up that is being repeated because it's so outlandish?

OP posts:
lljkk · 06/12/2020 12:01

How many of them would never be more than 2 m away from their smartphone.

Aragog · 06/12/2020 12:04

Exactly.

My distant relative on social media is going on and on about the vaccine not being safe, it having the ability to track you, change your dna, no testing, no idea of contents, etc.

This same man is on his smart phone all day every day and has taken huge amounts of dodgy drugs from some toothless bloke down his street!

It's just not worth pointing out the irony.

MollyButton · 06/12/2020 12:11

And in this country do they really think this Government could track 60 million people? Look how amazingly successful Track and Trace has been.

mscongeniality · 06/12/2020 12:14

I know someone who believes this and has said so to meHmm but they're happy to use a smartphone

Springersrock · 06/12/2020 12:14

Yes. One of my colleagues genuinely thinks there’s some kind of tracking chip in the vaccine

Of course, the fact that he has a new iPhone, uses social media, banking apps, email, supermarket loyalty cards etc, etc, has gone completely over his head

LightasaBreeze · 06/12/2020 12:15

Well, it would be easier than having to use the fucking app to get into places and onto a plane.

TheQueef · 06/12/2020 12:16

It's more concerning that they credit our Gov with the ability to track people through nanotech and immunisation!

MrsBeltane · 06/12/2020 12:20

I really don't know what use it would be to track me. I'm not very interesting, so why would they bother?

Isthatitnow · 06/12/2020 12:34

Can I ask, if we are going to be tracked, who exactly is going to be doing that tracking and what will be the purpose of it? What will it achieve? Surely we will need to employ thousands to be able to make tracking individuals....meaningful in some way? How will those thousands be recruited given that it is all so cloak and dagger and they had to make thousands die to get the tracking into us all through some kind of tiny tracking chip? Does the technology not exist to just put tiny chips in food, medicines, toothpaste or water?

I’m not so far up my own arse that tracking my movements would be of any interest to the government whatsoever.

PrivateD00r · 06/12/2020 12:43

I wonder what new information they think it might give whoever is 'tracking' them? Confused

Are there really people in Britain who think the vaccine will track us?
Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 06/12/2020 12:47

There must be some. I was listening to radio 1 in the car recently and the news report came on, and in all seriousness the reported was telling people the vaccine will not have tracking devices in it, because apparently a lot of people were worried about it.
People really have lost the plot.
Ffs how do they think that would even be possible, and what would be the purpose?

PuzzledObserver · 06/12/2020 16:14

Someone I am fb friends with put a meme up a few days ago which showed a yellow star with a Covid vaccine ID on it, ending in 666. The text said something like, have the vaccine, you have nothing to lose but your soul.

I suspect that the originator of the meme is implying that the vaccine is the “mark of the beast” referred to in the book of Revelation. Those who belong to the devil accept the mark, those who belong to Christ must reject it, or lose their salvation. Only those who have the mark of the beast can buy or sell, according to Revelation 13:15-16.

So, a small and rather worrying fringe group of Christians are interpreting immunity passports or vaccine certificates as the mark of the beast - they can be used to ensure unvaccinated people can’t access certain places or services. They are encouraging people to reject vaccination on that basis.

I’m a Christian and I’m embarrassed that these ideas are being promulgated in the name of my faith.

Gigheimer · 06/12/2020 16:16

Yes an ex of mine fully believes it, I just point out it would be cheaper to hide a chip in the MMR/Flu/Other vaccine than invent an entirely new one. Plus they are texting me from their smartphone. Insanity!

There are hesitations for me around the vaccine but being chipped is not one of them Confused

Gremlinpoop · 06/12/2020 16:17

Yep the government want to track elderly care home residents Grin. Notice the young are not even on the list to be vaccinated yet, that's your clue they really don't intend to track you with this jab.

Cherryberrypies · 06/12/2020 16:21

The amount of people who will happily have alexas, smart phones, etc in their home but protest at a vaccine ‘tracking’ them. It’s absurd.
We are monitored all day every day but no one cares about that

DirtyDancing · 06/12/2020 16:36

If it does they’ll be fascinated watching me back and forth on the school run, and popping to Tesco. Thrilling

FiveGoMadInDorset · 06/12/2020 16:38

Also it's mass sterilisation

jenthelibrarian · 06/12/2020 16:43

If they injected you with a chip then it would need some sort of power source to broadcast your whereabouts.
A chipped pet can't be tracked, only have the info on the chip read at the vet.
Your phone, bank cards, loyalty cards and so on do a much better job at showing your daily movements and habits.
Surely?

Gigheimer · 06/12/2020 16:45

Five ah now they aren’t helping themselves on that one. The vaccine has skipped the animal fertility toxicity trials and therefore the guidance does say “effect on fertility is unknown”.

So while it’s EXTREMELY unlikely and there are better ways to sort out the population crisis it plays straight into the fears.

Fertility rates have actually been reducing worldwide already, and the only way the “save” the planet is for population control.

So adding 2+2 is really close to equalling 4, I mean, more like 5 or 78 but it gives that tinge of fear to those already afraid.

SnuggyBuggy · 06/12/2020 16:45

I think the tedium and isolation of lockdown and social distancing has really affected some people in strange ways. While I don't believe this myself I do have the odd day where I feel really anxious and occasionally feel a bit tin foil hat paranoid. I can see how some people would go down the conspiracy rabbit hole who wouldn't before because normal life would distract them.

Gigheimer · 06/12/2020 16:47

Jen push to cashless society will do just that without needing some fabricated bullshit chip theory. Those willing to look into technocracy and social credit scoring would find it far more sinister than any bullshit lizard people conspiracy theory!

BahHumbygge · 06/12/2020 16:56

I watched a video clip on youtube the other day of a C4 news interview between Jon Snow and an immunology professor. The professor said something about the sterilising activity of the vaccine. The people in the comments absolutely lost their shit and were going on about Bill Gates and the "depopulation agenda" etc. It's sterilising in the same sense that running your jam jars through the dishwasher before jam making is sterilising to any lurgies lurking in the jars. Eejits. (Do think he was unwise to phrase it in that way though!)

mrsjackrussell · 06/12/2020 17:05

Yes. A very dear Christian friend who is very intelligent believes this. I think that it is coming from the Christian groups that she is part of.

They believe that COVID is real but a smokescreen for what is really going on. They believe that everyone is going to be so dejected from the state of the world and that a charismatic leader is going to appear and everyone will love this leader but he is not who he appears to be. In other words Satan. It's all very scary what people are believing.

My friend is not going to have the vaccine although she is in the clinically vulnerable category.
