Are there really people in Britain who think the vaccine will track us?

I keep on hearing that there are people who think that the vaccine is a ploy to inject something into us so that Bill Gates/the govt/someone else can track us.

Do these people really exist is it just an idea someone made up that is being repeated because it's so outlandish?

Yes that's why it's being given to people in care homes first. They get up to all sorts of things

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 06/12/2020 17:10

The irony is that the people muttering this crap are SO boring and tedious no one would ever want to track them.

So, it's kind of moot.

Would making a cracking AHS series though...

Gobbledygook20 · 06/12/2020 17:21

My dd's dad believes this. He has never been bright. Has told us not to take up the vaccine. Since we aren't together it will be easy to just ignore him. He is against Bill Gates and against 5g. Also thinks it's to do with 666 blah blah. Bonkers!

Gobbledygook20 · 06/12/2020 17:22

Ds's dad. Mistype.

Itsalwayssunnyupnorth · 06/12/2020 17:25

My MIL believes this 🤦🏼‍♀️ But she also believes the earth is flat and buys a load of snake oil off the internet because of ‘big pharma’ but can’t see the irony in paying through the rough for what is essentially water with a fancy label.

CaptainMyCaptain · 06/12/2020 17:25

@FiveGoMadInDorset

Also it's mass sterilisation
Good idea starting with the over 80s then Confused.

Porcupineinwaiting · 06/12/2020 17:34

Pity the poor sod who has to analyse my tracking data. The most excitement he's likely to get is when I change the day I pop into the baker. Grin

Diddlysquatty · 06/12/2020 17:36

I enjoyed this 😂

Are there really people in Britain who think the vaccine will track us?
Gigheimer · 06/12/2020 18:15

To be fair I intend to do all the things that are too dangerous now when I’m 80, I’m going to do ALL the drugs, skydive and be right tart Grin

Whilst i dont believe this vaccine is to track us and its bonkers.
I do think it would be different to a smart phone because i can leave my phone behind. And if i was making some form of legitimate political protest i probably would.

Aprilrainbow · 06/12/2020 19:43

We all know one or two people who are barking, social media allows them to chat to one another & exchange ideas. It must be fascinating to dream up new theories & see how far they spread.

ElephantWhaleRabbit · 06/12/2020 19:53

If only there wasn't already a multitude of ways to track our movements (e.g. number plate recognition software, face recognition software, mobile phone signals, electronic transactions), Bill Gates wouldn't have to go to these lengths.

Aprilrainbow · 06/12/2020 21:34

Non religious people & religious people have alternative realities, conspiracy theorists also have alternative realities.

Aprilrainbow · 06/12/2020 21:35

Bill Gates only has himself to blame for being such a do gooder.

Tootsietootie · 06/12/2020 21:38

I know two. They are thick as fuck. Also voted for Boris as they believed that the Tories would look after them (low paid in the North of England) more than Corbyn (who I don't love). Not very good critical thinkers.

MiddleClassMother · 06/12/2020 21:40

A close friend wrote a rant about this ok facebook saying they won't be having the vaccine as it's "too quick to be safe" etc etc. We're no longer facebook friends...

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 06/12/2020 21:47

Such amazing irony that these people natter to each other about the vaccine's supposed tracking capabilities ... On their phones.

Moondust001 · 06/12/2020 21:50

Personally, I'd really love to know what things they get up to that are worth tracking.

Motorina · 06/12/2020 23:33

@Gremlinpoop

Yep the government want to track elderly care home residents Grin. Notice the young are not even on the list to be vaccinated yet, that's your clue they really don't intend to track you with this jab.
That's it! My father still doesn't have a smartphone, and his non-smart phone is far more likely to be in the glove compartment or a tray by the door than his pocket. How else can you track him (and all the other old farts like him) without chipping them?

As for me, they can stick as many chips in me as they like if it means I can have a quiet pint or two in my local with my friends.

vodkaredbullgirl · 06/12/2020 23:36

Yeah we are all going to be microchipped Grin

Sewsosew · 06/12/2020 23:39

My neighbour won’t get it as it’s been developed ‘too quickly’. But is happy to get the flu jab every year.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 06/12/2020 23:46

It would actually be really useful if we pull actually be chipped with all our medical records. The amount the NHS has put into trying to have one versatile record set and yet we all still have to lug our pregnancy green notes round with us and turn up for hospital appointments to discover that all our info has got lost.

Instead a nice easy chip giving all the details about my allergy to penicillin, how I have a habit of haemorrhaging post childbirth and that I don’t want fish for lunch if in hospital would be really rather useful!

The average IQ is between 90 and 110 so there are lots of people who have a below average IQ.

Makes sense some will believe this kind of thing
