Freezing hands and feet - could this be a symptom?

I realise no one knows for sure, but does this sound like it could be an early symptom? Feeling mildly headachy, tired etc but main thing is really really cold hands and feet - despite being in bed with a hot water bottle!

I doubt it.
I get that every month with pmt. There are a million and one reasons why you may be cold and I doubt any of them are covid.

Pearsapiece · 28/11/2020 13:49

I think it's a symptom of not putting your heating on

RedskyAtnight · 28/11/2020 13:52

More likely to be a symptom of the weather getting colder over the last couple of days?

Pinkflipflop85 · 28/11/2020 13:52

This is me all of the time and has been for years. The heating could be roasting and my hands and feet will still be like icicles.

DildoAndAKneeAss · 28/11/2020 13:54

I will eat my computer if that's a symptom of early Covid.

Mollymillymolly · 28/11/2020 13:54

My heating is on!

It’s not normal for me but yes unlikely to be Covid I agree - thanks all. Was worried was the start of a fever/chills but fingers crossed not...

There is such a thing as Covid toes, but like many of the possible symptoms, there are likely, common alternative causes. Headache & fatigue are possible symptoms too.('m not sure whether the testing algorithm currently recognises this)

TheYearOfSmallThings · 28/11/2020 13:57

Winter arrived in the last few days - I'd say it's that. Even with the heat on your body knows it's cold out!

Keeping moving is the best way to stay warm and boost your circulation.

Bargebill19 · 28/11/2020 14:01

There are still normal winter bugs floating around. Plus pmt, not getting enough sleep, just feeling a bit meh etc
The weather is cold and damp, socks and warmer clothes, heating and moving around all help combat the changing weather.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 28/11/2020 14:52

I’ve tested positive a few days ago and honestly, my feet are like blocks of ice! Nothing makes them feel warm! Other than that and losing my sense of smell (slowly returning) I feel absolutely fine.

time4anothername · 28/11/2020 15:11

cold extremities can certainly be symptoms that come alongside fever with infections, expecially if not normal for you. I don't know how posters can confidently come on here claiming it is impossible it is Covid. Cold hands and feets with high fever is something HCPs are trained to look out for as disease indicators. I'd suggest phoning 111 if this continues and definitely if your temperature is above or below average for you.

Get some socks on girl

Oh poor you, but glad to hear it hasn’t been serious! I’m definitely feeling under the weather, am hoping it won’t develop any further 😞

I always have cold hands and feet but when I had covid they were worse than usual.

elmerbananas · 28/11/2020 16:59

Why not just get tested?

Topseyt · 28/11/2020 17:11

At this time of year I almost always have feet that are like blocks of ice, though my hands are usually fine.

I don't find it is normally a symptom of anything very much. It is just one of my quirks. I have a pair of microwaveable slippers for when it is really bad.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 28/11/2020 17:59

@elmerbananas

Why not just get tested?
Because OP hasn't got any of the symptoms to get tested
dustyknickers · 28/11/2020 18:08

Have been very sick and hospitalized with covid. One of the first symptoms was freezing hands and feet.

You might be one of the many false positives
thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/11/2020 18:16

I tested positive early in November and one of my lingering symptoms now a few weeks post virus is I still have freezing toes and fingertips. Only sometimes, but eg. When I'm running I get freezing toes, and periodically during the day I'll find my fingers are numb and cold as ice. The virus attacked my nervous/neurological system far more than anything else and I think that's a side effect, for me at least.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 28/11/2020 18:57

@Pootle40 my teenage DD has also tested positive (I caught it from her, who caught it at school) so doubtful we’d both have false positives. We tested on 24th, so a day later than stated for those batch of false positives a few days ago. I’m hoping we’ve got away with mild cases 🤞🏻

PicsInRed · 28/11/2020 19:09

Stress and anxiety will cause this.

Porcupineinwaiting · 28/11/2020 21:05

It was with me, hands and feet both. Although I've had similar w other viruses before I've never had it so noticeably as I did with COVID.

Lemons1571 · 28/11/2020 21:12

I had this early October, alongside an awful headache, tired and grotty, hot and cold on and off (max 37.5 though), random bouts of a dry cough (maybe twice a day but not continuous). Didn’t get a test as didn’t meet the criteria.
