I couldn’t watch Boris and co because I didn’t want the kids to watch it. Does anyone know?

  • what’s happening to shielding?
  • will swimming pools be open?
  • what about private swimming lessons?
  • play parks?
  • national trust?

Or do we have the usual of waiting for the documents with the details to be posted online 10 mins before it comes into force.

No idea. Was doing bedtime when it was on so following for details.

ShanghaiDiva · 31/10/2020 19:57

Pools shut, assume parks will be too as only allowed to exercise with one person from another household and parks encourage household mixing.
Message as before: stay home, work from home if you can, but schools open.

SendHelp30 · 31/10/2020 19:59

Basically full lockdown as before but schools, colleges & uni to stay open. Go to work if you can’t work from home. Outdoor exercise allowed.

Stay home. Protect the NHS. Save lives

Again.

I'm not clear on the rules for shielders. At one point Boris said if you were on the shielding list and you can't work from home don't go to work, but he might have said it wrong. They later said the shielding programme wouldn't be started again but those on the list should take extra precautions.

Thatwentbadly · 31/10/2020 20:01

Thank you. I’m still doing bedtime. Feeding the youngest.

Thanks. DH is shielding but working from home for the foreseeable future. The shielding pause letter said you must be super vigilant about social distancing.

Can walking groups still meet? Are you allowed to meet one other person for exercise only?

LunaLula83 · 31/10/2020 20:08

Look up bbc news online

I read one person can meet one other person outdoors for exercise.

@LunaLula83 I have looked but there was very little detail and no answers to the questions I was looking for.

He said only meet one other person from another household outside for exercise so I doubt walking groups can happen. Everywhere to shut apart from essential places like supermarkets and post offices. Work from home again unless its no easy to do so. Furlough being extended for another month. Schools and unis staying open. No mixing with other households indoors at all.

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 20:12

Is there a limit on how far we can travel for exercise ? In the first lockdown we were advised to stay local and once per day only, but later on it was changed to unlimited exercise anywhere in the country. Why can't they be clear about these things ?

Babyroobs · 31/10/2020 20:14

They are not encouraging at risk people to shield again, just to be extra careful ! there was a lot of doom and gloom, NHS will be overwhelmed in weeks etc if action not taken and drs and Nurses will have to choose who to treat if we don't have a lock down.
Anyone know if hairdressers and baby groups will close? I presume so.

Caramel81 · 31/10/2020 20:15

Not sure about baby groups but hairdressers will be closing

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 20:16

Yeah, apparently anything 'non essential' will close. Trying to find out about driving lessons, there's no info anywhere.

SendHelp30 · 31/10/2020 20:17

@Versace104 you’re not supposed to travel out of your area unless it can be avoided. He didn’t specify whether area is your city/town or county or village/estate? Im going to go with city.

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 20:18

Yeah hopefully city/region, village or estate would be far too restrictive !

Claire926 · 31/10/2020 20:22

@Caramel81 Thanks for advising.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 31/10/2020 20:23

Did they say anything about support bubbles - will they still be allowed?

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 20:25

Yeah, you're still allowed a support bubble or to meet with one other person outdoors.

Wingedharpy · 31/10/2020 20:26

Can I use "solar system" as "my area"?

Lavender211 · 31/10/2020 20:31

Have they mentioned funerals at all ? I've looked online but can't find anything about it.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 31/10/2020 20:33

Thanks - don't know why I couldn't find that myself, but I couldn't. Phew - very relieved.

cheesemongery · 31/10/2020 20:43

Any mention of support bubbles? I can see childcare and support mentioned in households mixing but nothing defined - as per.
