We should enforce recreation times where people have to leave their house and spend time outdoors, exercising.

It's commonsensical after all. If the virus is spread by people spending time indoors, let's stop them.
We could spend £300 per family in kitting them out in decent outdoor clothing. Which would boost the retail sector.
Any other great commonsensical ideas on how to deal with Covid?

The people would only go outside if they were told not to go outside, so you have to introduce laws/guidance.

herecomesthsun · 08/10/2020 11:40

Appoint a new government.

SallySeven · 08/10/2020 11:40

Definitely ban it to make it appealing.

Treesofwood · 08/10/2020 11:45

Herecomesthsun Definitely the most commonsensical thing I have heard today.

The virus is spreading by people mixing indoors. Stop people mixing. Stopping people from staying inside is a non enforceable idea. I don’t have a dog because at this time of year if the weather is bad (mostly is) I’m not going out. It’s miserable even in appropriate clothing.

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 08/10/2020 11:55

My commonsensical suggestions:

1 - forest workplaces - like forest schools, for office workers. Excel is shit anyway, we could keep better track of cases using acorns;
2 - tell people they can only mix indoors with their in-laws;
3 - when 1 and 2 don’t work, demolish all houses in the North, they can live in their gardens. They’re not worth much anyway, we can rebuild them later with the savings made by commuter-belt season ticket holders.

Treesofwood · 08/10/2020 11:55

If you have three children your biggest risk will probably be from the home. We could introduce fines for people who don't soebd time outdoors, and track them on their phones to ensure it happens.
Or we could ask their neighbours to call the police and report it.

I think we should just ban eating. That means nobody needs to go to a restaurant. Nobody needs to go to the shops. Obesity crisis is solved. Why am I not PM?

Treesofwood · 08/10/2020 11:57

Actually, maybe we could enforce dog ownership as a way of enforcing it.

OP posts:
Treesofwood · 08/10/2020 11:58

Spodge Yes eating is overrated anyway.

You are having a laugh! I hate being outside. I never spend time outside if I can help it.

RuthW · 08/10/2020 12:00

May I also that I am mixing with no one outside my household bubble apart from work.

TheClaws · 08/10/2020 12:02

Identify stupid and irritating people via their social media posting patterns and take away their internet access for at least 6 months.

Treesofwood · 08/10/2020 12:03

RuthW You would be saving lives by reducing the spread.

Theclaws. Who gets to define stupid and irritating?

Remmy123 · 08/10/2020 12:06

You can't stop people mixing it's inhumane ffs we need a life!!!

SallySeven · 08/10/2020 12:07

Mixing indoors with in laws is genius.

If only!!!

Some people are getting extremely fucking tedious now!!

Lockdownseperation · 08/10/2020 12:13

I would love in door mixing with my PIL even though I find them annoying. I haven’t been in anyone else house for 7 months.

SallySeven · 08/10/2020 12:15

I do miss sitting indoors with people!

More dogs and more dogshit, yeah we really need that don't we🙄
SallySeven · 08/10/2020 12:17

I am pretty sedentary by nature. And I like warm interiors more than windy gardens.
Winter's going to be a bummer.

actiongirl1978 · 08/10/2020 12:19

Best idea I've heard all day. We have loads of acorns where I live.

Incentivise children to collect acorns (and maybe conkers?) to allow all cases to be recorded in case you run out of acorns?

It's a well ventilated activity and would keep them out of their parents hair.
