How long have people waited over the past week or so?

covetingthepreciousthings I too did a home test last Friday and received my negative result at 11.37pm last night.

Negative thankfully, but I feel so rough. Must be some other nasties doing the rounds

There is a massive back log on tests. They're being sent to italy and getmany in some cases.

63 hours from tests to results! This was a drive through test in Wales. Negative.
Huge relief from a self employed person!

Our saturday test came through via email at 10pm last night.

@Butterer I went for one of the other options last night and got through to a human after an hour. They have escalated the results as it’s been way over 72 hours. Apparently that team only works until 6 🤦‍♀️

Fingers crossed today we will find out.

41 hours. Did test on Sunday lunch time got negative result just a short while ago.

Tested Sunday afternoon and nothing yet. I know the tests aren’t at the local lab as my DH has contacts their through work so no idea where they have been sent.

Losing my mind here. Tested early Sunday at a mobile drive through site. Can see the DC missing a whole week of school for absolutely no reason at this rate.

So many messages from people tested before us and still waiting. I'm furious with how crap this system is. It's not fit for purpose. I'll honestly think twice before testing in future.

Finally got a negative result this morning after testing at drive through site on Thursday morning. Such a relief but the wait is just ridiculous. I don’t see how test and trace can work at all if results are taking that long. If you were positive then by the time they trace contacts they will have already been out and about for several days after the test.

Which test centre did you go to.

Mine was in the North West @Softpebbles. It’s very frustrating isn’t it.

DH waited 9 days for the results of his home postal test. Royal Mail picked it up same day as he took his test. Goodness knows what became of it in the interim period or whether the sample was even viable by the time they got around to testing it. He was very surprised when the results did eventually appear.

He couldn’t afford to wait and couldn’t book another test, so paid nearly £150 and drove a 4 hour round trip to take a private test.

Mine have just come back after 46 hours.

For us it was taken last week's Monday and results came through at nearly midnight on Thursday night.

To offer some hope to those waiting we had test in drive through yesterday and results through 22 hours later (negative)

Results just in. 44hrs - not as bad as I feared!

“Walk in” test 24 hours ago (although turned out that you needed to be in a car!). No results yet. Are we meant to register?

@Hmmph it depends. Did you take a QA code with you and was it scanned by the people at the centre? If so that will automatically link your test sample to you and so you don’t need to do anything.

Home test on Friday, result Monday evening so pretty quick considering the weekend.

Test yesterday afternoon, result 26 hours later. I have heard of others tested yesterday with similar or slightly less time for results

Home test posted back yesterday, received 9am this morning. I'm not expecting the test results back much before self isolation is due to end on Sunday.
