I'm showing symptoms of covid

Just that
The end of last week , I think it was friday I started having a headache , thought nothing of it ,, warm weather and not drinking enough probably. Then I go to Brighton saturday morning overnight, funnily enough my legs felt achy that morning but I'd been on a long walk Thursday evening so just put it down to that .
This morning I threw up , numerous times and had to leave work. I came home and slept for 4 hours, this is very unusual.
This afternoon I've developed diarrhea and over the last hour I've felt hot and I'm coughing ( its wet tho not a dry cough ). Referring to a TAAT I didnt link diarrhea or vomiting with covid until I read it I just thought it was ..
Fever
Dry cough
Breathlessness
I've ordered a test which should come in 48 hours
This is the thing ... I might not even have coronavirus/ covid , I might just have a dicky belly .
I have 2 jobs and get no sick pay whatsoever for either. But took today of sick from job 2 as I was throwing up
Honestly in my situation would you ...
Carry on working until the test comes back with results THEN deal with it while carrying out vigorous hand washing and sanitizing , social distancing (then self isolate of course if positive ) OR self isolate now , it may come back negative then potentially have lost a weeks worth of money , waiting for test to arrive , waiting for courier to pick it up, then waiting for results all for nothing which I can ill afford .
In all honesty what would you do ?

Are you seriously considering going to work?
Even without the risk of spreading covid you'd still be potentially spreading a sickness bug!

NO stay at home- don't spread it to others it is selfish. Plus you aren't allowed back at work for 48 hours after vomiting/diarhoea, I know your other job doesn't know but should.

You self isolate of course and you let people know who you’ve been in contact with. Start writing a list of people who you’ve been with so if you test positive you can inform them ASAP.
Do not go to work. Do not go shopping.

Sorry, even if it's not covid you have sickness and diarrhoea so shouldn't be going to work. Stay at home until you're better.

For three reasons you should isolate:

If you spread it at work you will feel very bad
If people find out you will be very harshly judged
If you may have vivid you should rest now to aid recovery

Please don't even consider not following the isolation advice.

48 hours clear of the last episode of d or v at home Regardless of your COVID test result.

Can you get to a test centre? I think results take less than 24 hours to come back. You should isolate until you know for sure if it's covid.

Fuck me and we wonder why this has spread so badly and killed so many people.

Stay at home ffs. Do not leave for any reason. Do not risk spreading it to other people - do you want to be responsible for making people Ill? Or giving them a virus that might even kill them?

NHS website also says if your test is negative but you're not better, you should still isolate.

Wow I don't normally say this, but you are being a bit of a moron. Of course don't go to work until you get your test results. People like you are why we are in danger of another lockdown..

Last week a silly person near me got a covid test for random symptoms but then decided it probably wasn't covid and went on a pub crawl. The next day he got a positive result and closed 4 pubs. So I probably wouldn't go out!

You shouldn't be going anywhere at all with those symptoms. Whether or not you have Covid, you'll be infectious and it's simply unfair to spread any virus around.

Stay home but start googling covid sick payments. There must be something you can claim. Ring your work. Best of luck op

Are you crazy? Of course you should self isolate!

Can you get to a test centre? My results took 18 hrs from me taking it, to receiving results. Far far faster. And I was told I needed to self isolate until I’d received my results back

If you have it and spread it around your workplace, it may well end up closing for a couple of weeks and then you'll have caused countless other people to lose their income too (if not their health or even their life).

It's posts like this which explain how Covid spread so quickly in the first place!

Ok ,I hear you and am listening but in my defence the covid thing might not be, so essentially I've lost 2 entire wages for perhaps nothing so its easy to say stay home. Put yourself in my shoes could you really lose a weeks wage from 2 jobs?
But ok i get it .
I'll let my manager know about the D&V

It's not for nothing. It's because you're ill. You really are. You shouldn't be going to work because you are contagious, regardless of covid.

I sympathise completely with the loss of earnings OP. I think you know deep down you can't go in, but I'd be gutted about the lack of wages too.

You have doubts that it might be Covid, you won’t know if you have it or not until your results come back so you need to treat it as though you do have it until you’re told otherwise. Please don’t leave your house at all. It’s not worth the risk.

Surely you’re entitled to some form of sick pay? You’re entitled by law so for your employer not to pay you it is illegal
