I'm coughing to the point I vomit. Ache all over. Really, really ache. Lungs feel weird - dusty?

I've had pneumonia a couple of times but this feels different.

Temperature is normal.

Is this it?

It could well be. Can you access a test?

picklemewalnuts · 15/05/2020 19:55

Have you got people around?

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 15/05/2020 19:57

Can get a test through work.

In the house with my family.

Text my boss (working tomorrow) and she says to see how I feel...

Do you still have to be in hospital in the UK to get a test or has the criteria changed? My dad had Covid 19 and didn't have a high temperature. He was off his food and had a slight chesty cough. He got it from a fella sitting beside him on the plane from Spain as he and my mum have been cocooning since they came back on March 13th. They're in Ireland and we've been testing in the community. My dad wasn't hospitalised. The fact he uses a Cpap machine at night probably helped save his life.

EugeniaGrace · 15/05/2020 20:10

See if you can book yourself a test.

Tonii1985 · 15/05/2020 20:10

You can get a home test for yourself and anyone in your household over the age of 5 if you are over 65 or a key worker.

Whitewinetonight · 15/05/2020 20:14

Do you normally get a cough come on out of the blue? Sounds like you've been working, so obviously have an increased chance.

Take care, either way. I've also had pneumonia in the past, so I think you'll know if you need help.

gamerchick · 15/05/2020 20:17

Text my boss (working tomorrow) and she says to see how I feel...

You have that in a text?

SD1978 · 15/05/2020 20:18

People, can't diagnose over the Internet, and speculation isn't an answer. You have access to testing, so self isolate and test, and you'll have an answer within a few days.

ChangedMyName4This1 · 15/05/2020 20:18

Or a carer.

Elieza · 15/05/2020 20:23

That sucks OP. Hope you get a test booked and recover quickly.

Isolate away from others in the meantime or you’ll smit the whole household.

DP will just have to sleep on the couch.

okaycokay · 15/05/2020 20:24

You have symptoms. Are you working from home? If not, and have to go into an office, please don't

maddy68 · 15/05/2020 20:29

Book yourself a test www.gov.uk/apply-coronavirus-test

Lougle · 15/05/2020 20:30

You need to isolate for 7 days or until you get a negative test result and your family needs to isolate for 14 days. I hope you feel better soon. Flowers

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 15/05/2020 20:35

Very probably! Remember though most people without any health conditions, not overweight will be fine. You might feel very rough but most will be ok.

Access a test if your able too

You and everyone you live with now need to isolate as if it is Covid you don’t want to risk passing it on. You at least all need to self isolate until you’ve had a test & results

GabsAlot · 15/05/2020 20:45

your boss cant say see how you feel you have covid symtom thats instant self isolation

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 15/05/2020 20:46

Ordered tests. Thank you for the link.

I was under the impression that my boss had to order it on my behalf.

thatcarolebaskinbitch · 15/05/2020 21:04

Yep definitely no work until you get test results, I've had to do a test this week and found it very efficient, ordered Tuesday it arrived Wednesday and courier picked it up yesterday, I've had an email saying to expect my results tomorrow so you should know by Tuesday/Wednesday, hope you feel better soon!

bombaychef · 15/05/2020 21:04

Sounds likely possible. As you have symptoms you should stay away from work and self isolate

whatsleep · 15/05/2020 21:13

In short. Yes.

Definitely stay home and isolate, your boss if an idiot to even suggest you see how you feel! Hope you’re ok but please stay home which I’m sure is what you instinctively think you should do.

AnnieCartwright · 15/05/2020 21:17

Go to the online version of 111. Put your symptoms in. It will give you a coved ‘sicknote’ to send your employer. You need to isolate for 7 days. Your household for 14.
Try to stay apart from your family in the house too.

Your symptoms sound the same as mine did. I tested positive.

AnnieCartwright · 15/05/2020 21:17

Drink lots and lots of clear fluid.

softjellycell · 15/05/2020 21:19

You did well to get a test ordered tonight, the site for ordering home tests only works until 8pm. I was trying to order one earlier.

Do it just after 5.

softjellycell · 15/05/2020 21:31

I will tomorrow, thanks.
