We have had such a focus in the news / press on deaths haven't we, it feels more balanced to see some good news stories too. Think we all need it at times.

we sure do orange,... not sure why this thread hasn't been more busy and popular tbh

I want to add my positive recovery tales... I now know about 20 people who have had it (most tested) and most bar one was mild, and the less mild one just felt rough for about 3 weeks, no hospital needed. and 2 were over 70

My friend was on a ventilator then needed renal dialysis. She is out of hospital now,age 78.

She has a long road to recovery ahead, but honestly didn’t think she would make it.

My hospital has no confirmed covid left in it (have a few pending on amber ward) Very few deaths. Very few requiring ITU.

My friend’s mum (92 and very frail) went into hospital and tested positive but was discharged after a couple of weeks. Main symptom was a slightly raised temperature.

I know she’s not old, but my friend is an NHS nurse. She’s 31 and her only symptom was loss of smell. She tested positive.

Two uncles in their 80s, one obese and with a pre-existing lung condition, and one very frail - both recovered.

This is a lovely thread.

I know an overweight man in his 50’s not sure if he had an pre existing conditions, had time in hospital on oxygen now fully recovered and back at work.

I know of a family who all tested postive a grandad, mum, dad, uncle and a 8 month baby. The grandad was on oxygen for about 3 weeks and was touch and go but survived. All others had mild symptoms.

DD and her partner both had it at the beginning of lockdown - both are in their late 20s. Symptoms were fever, cough, tight chest and tiredness. Both spent a day in bed feeling grim and were much better after three days although the fatigue lasted another week or so. They were completely recovered after that. Neither tested because they just weren't that ill so they don't feature in official statistics.

Battysace123 your friend will probably be on dmards and there's evidence coming out they might actually help if you get it.

I'm on immunosuppressants and I'm feeling a little more confident now about it all.

Great thread @Orangeblossom78 wish the media would share more of these stories instead of the very worst scenarios constantly . A lot of people’s mental health could be given a wee boost by seeing these recoveries. Thanks for starting it Smile

It's good hearing of the elderly recovering. I know we've had a lot of deaths but it sounds like we have treated everyone who went to hospital and the choices which were made in other countries about who to treat weren't need to be made here

My uncle, 60 tested positive. I know he isn’t elderly, but He has DS and has some underlying health conditions. Discharged after 3 weeks and fit as a fiddle now.
