So here we go. Early start 6 of us in a big vehicle on our way to enjoy Cornwall. Can anyone recommend anywhere nice?

We’ll be stopping at many petrol stations en route to handle the nozzle but beware of Michelle she’s got a bit of a cough. Nothing to worry about though.

I'm flying to the USA later today with my whole street, 182 of us..we all need a break now we don't have to Stay at Home. We can't socially distance as there are too many of us but be assured, we shall Stay Alert.

I'm off to Devon to my second home this week. Legit. Have essential business there, touching surfaces, buying all the flour for baking, and the loo paper. We don't have to protect the NHS now which means we can start butchering nurses in the street now right?

More slogans are needed for the tabloids.
Taking Britain back (except Scotland and Wales and possibly Northern Ireland).
Making Britain Great Again.
Ignoring the economic costs of more people dying because I've decided that doesn't matter, though that's perhaps too long for a slogan. Making slogans longer.
Tabloids killing their customer base.

@frumpety apparently our airport will be opening and no need to quarantine...so come! And if you do end up quarantining for 14 days st Brelades bay is a nice enough place to do it!!

When will Cornish realise they must be nice to visitors and get another hospital - also better roads etc...?

To those asking about camp sites I think rumour is they may open in July (I’m guessing smaller sites that can apply social distancing rules). I’m sure camp site owners will want to re open but not sure locals will welcome it.

We have a camp site booked in July, not in a beach location, I’m really hoping we can go, we won’t be mixing with others, we will doing some walking but mainly staying in site. We live in a tourist area so we like to camp in a non tourist area 🤣.

I’m sure Cornwall and Devon do want tourists back but only when it’s safe to do so. Until there is a vaccine a 2nd/3rd peek is always going to be a risk.

Look, how about we just hire a coach! We can do a tour or two whilst we're at it.

@tara66 I saw a mineshaft open up on a road just before lockdown. Someone had put tape around it - wonder how big it is now!

Better roads would be fabulous.

I’m super lovely to visitors. Im not a “bugger off & get off my land” type Grin

Camping in August would be great if social distance could be maintained but the toilet blocks would be absolutely gross and definitely a corona fest with all those bums & wet feet. Blergghh

Yes don’t worry we have planned some shelf stripping stops in any supermarkets we come across.

Thanks for those who asked about Michelle. Her cough can’t be covid but she does have these funny coloured toes and is a bit warm but then it might just be the stress of travel. We’ll get her checked at the first hospital we see in Cornwall

Can you bring me back a pasty please, not one of those gross traditional ones though. I want something fancy, maybe feta and olive? Must be gluten free, obvs.

Ooo, and a naice box of fudge that I can give my cleaner as a thank you for battling on and coming to my house twice a week to change the beds. And while you're there, see if they've got a rock selection box I can give to my hairdresser as thank you for sneakily touching my roots up Wink

Never mind Cornwall, I am jumping on the tube to have a walk round the landmarks of London. Should be really good with so few people about and a chance to get a seat on the tube for once. Just imagine what brilliant selfies I could take with all those deserted streets and famous buildings in the background. I might even picnic by the river Cake

Can I come too? I am in Wales, but I can sneak across the border. I'm sure all the Cornish will welcome us with open arms full of pasties and ice cream.

Might take a while to get there, the news said roads and motorways are congested this morning.

Up until yesterday I was receiving a full discount on a cottage that we had booked that was 300 miles way from us. Boris makes his speech and now I am being told by the owner this morning...

Good news....you can now come as restrictions on travel have been lifted.

They are limited their guests to make sure there is a 72 hour gap between each family staying and it is in the middle of no-where so easy to socially distance, however we were going to visit family and that is currently not permitted.

I get that they need to get back on track financially also but feel a little taken advantage of. I have 2 small children and the thought of having to travel and take loo breaks in service stations is making me anxious.

@Lalalaboring it won’t just be the men topless we’ve been lockdown long enough we’re getting the girls out. Anyone know any prudish areas that may appreciate us?

@oldiewelshie please do. Maybe we’ll tour Wales before we move up to the Lake District and then Scotland.

Might take a while to get there, the news said roads and motorways are congested this morning.

We're getting the tube to the station, then it's only two buses and three train changes-

We'll get a taxi when we get there to grab some shopping (theres only 6 of us), Frank's got the beach gear in a back pack with a tent while we check out all the beaches and look for a good spot-

Hopefully the roads will be clearer in the morning when our family coach arrives!
