On the 1st of June?

The times said apparently most parents would not return their children to school, but that is not my experience on here.

YABU - would not send their child to school
YADNBU - Send their child to school on the 1st of June

I think we are being misrepresented. I don't know any parent at all anywhere that supports keeping schools closed for six whole months.

I'll send mine when I'm told it is reasonably safe to do so. Which might be June or might be September. I'm not going to push for an earlier return though unless the advice is it's now safe

Waxonwaxoff0 · 09/05/2020 12:30

YADNBU. Sending mine back when school opens, whenever that may be.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/05/2020 12:33

Bit of both.

I'll send them back as soon as they say they can go. But mine have send and are really struggling with the change in routine etc

I would be sending mine back this afternoon, given half a chance. So yes, YADNBU, in spades.

Plus I would win a bet if they open then. Lockdown gambling.

Anotherthink · 09/05/2020 12:41

I would see grandparents and extended family, then put DC in school and avoid them all again until there were further developments. I have to prioritise my ability to work over seeing family and other things that would come under a loosening of restrictions but would hopefully limit any potential transmission.

Vanillaradio · 09/05/2020 12:41

Yadnbu. I will send him back as soon as school opens.

YADNBU in bloody spades. Im not sure why you wouldn’t send healthy children back.

I would send all three of mine. Two at secondary, one in the last year of Primary. All three going stir crazy stuck in the house. Two with exams approaching next summer. They deserve a decent education and they haven't been getting that over the last 7 weeks.

All three are healthy without any underlying medical conditions and I will be sending them the very first day they're back. Although we're in Scotland, so we're probably looking at August.
