On the 1st of June?

The times said apparently most parents would not return their children to school, but that is not my experience on here.

YABU - would not send their child to school
YADNBU - Send their child to school on the 1st of June

I am desperate to send mine bank. I have two in primary, including Year 6, and am working from home full time it's completely unmanageable and bad for them . I was hopeful of a June 1st return, but now I'm not so sure

Definitely sending them back as soon as it opens their mental health is deteriorating rapidly

YADNBU - cannot understand why you’d be worried for your kids, to stop infection spread yes but I’m not worried for my healthy kids by themselves.

YABU.

No I wouldn't, because they won't let them in. They are open for select children only.

YADNBU Mine went back last week part time - he has an ehcp. I felt the risk was lower now with only 11 children in the school than when they all eventually go back.

Just to be clear , is your question, would you send them back 1st June, no matter what? Because that's an entirely different question to the assumption that the 1st of June is safer than now.

The question isn't would you send them back, but would you send them back in 3 weeks...isn't it??

YABU. I’m a teacher and if schools go back on 1st June, I’ll have to go back because it’s my job. But my children (yr 6 and yr 2) won’t be going, my husband will rearrange his day so that’s he’s at home with them. It won’t be like normal school and my children will be better off at home than at school. I’m not saying the same applies to every family, but mine won’t go back on June 1st even if I am.

YADNBU. We're well placed compared with most parents - my job's secure and can be done from home, we have enough space, we have IT and decent broadband, DH isn't working so has time to homeschool DD - but this is still having a really bad effect on her mental health. She needs to spend time with other kids, and she's more in danger of dying in a road accident on the walk to school than she is of dying of Covid-19. I can't even imagine what it's like for less fortunate families, and half a year is one hell of a long time in a child's life - some of them will never catch up.

I also notice that none of the politicians has even mentioned children's needs in any if the briefings. Shows where they are on the priority list
