I think it will be interesting to have him back and see what he has to say after experiencing Covid himself.. will he extend lockdown?

OP posts:
collateralmadamage · 27/04/2020 00:30

Pets at home is open I have been.

ALovelyBitOfSquirrel · 27/04/2020 00:33

I reckon he's going to announce garden centres can open

Oh I do hope so! Grin

middleager · 27/04/2020 00:34

neeting he might also sing "Happy Birthday" while washing his hands.

FurForksSake · 27/04/2020 00:35

Pets at home is open? the free zoo? Ha! Well I guess it is essential then, that's good.

CalleighDoodle · 27/04/2020 00:40

Pets at home is open. But if your stop still for five seconds to look at something, a member of staff appears two metres away, to tell you no browsing!

I Was there regularly pre lockdown for animal feeding and animal care sessions, as well as general getting animal food trips. Love all the staff there. And theyre Really doing so well at controlling the public atm too.

LilacTree1 · 27/04/2020 00:43

I don’t think he’ll be on TV till midweek.

Maybe a pre-recorded “cheer up” statement.

Blackbeans · 27/04/2020 00:51

Follow the "science"
Rishi will keep printing and borrowing money to bailout the universe.
Wash hands social distance (and you might get it anyway like me)
Stay home save lives you saved mine
Stop asking me to unlock I tell you when the science tells me
Sombrero not flattened
Lockdown is clearly working (nobody will ever know for sure really ha!)

ViciousJackdaw · 27/04/2020 01:15

He’s been in ICU not a fridge you silly billy. Back in your box there’s a good person

You sound nice

Bouledeneige · 27/04/2020 01:18

I think he will be back on TV tomorrow (Monday) and he will mention considering the rollout of relaxation measures - but not from tomorrow.

He was briefed for 3 hours at Chequers at the weekend and returned to No10 at 6pm tonight.

Pinkarsedfly · 27/04/2020 01:19

I imagine the phrase “ramping up” will be in there somewhere.

Crafting1Queen · 27/04/2020 01:34

Well, that'll fucking learn me not to listen to social distancing/lockdown advice ….. Blush

collateralmadamage · 27/04/2020 01:34

Dominic has done a sterling job

New normal

Devlesko · 27/04/2020 01:44

He'll say "we need to carry on with lockdown, protect the NHS and be pretty vague about everything else. Stressing how well we are doing, but we need to continue.
It will be bland and meaningless.

Barrique · 27/04/2020 07:45

Perhaps Johnson can tell us how Operation Last Gasp “saved” his life?

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/04/2020 07:56

I'm not sure what he'll say that would be different to what is said every day. Though I think it would be hilarious if he made a James Brown style entrance.....staggering and almost crawling on the floor then leaping up and throwing his jacket off before doing the splits.*

*disclaimer, I am obviously joking.

apples24 · 27/04/2020 07:56

Insincere platitudes.

Some blabbering about how grateful he is to the NHS while simultaneously prepping for trade talks to the US to sell more of it off.

So he'll say whatever he thinks majority of folks want to hear and he & his government will do whatever they want to do but won't shout out about it.

NettleTea · 27/04/2020 08:04

piffle piffle
whiff whaff
jolly good NHS
right thing, right time,
cheer for NHS
wash your hands
etc etc

TokyoSushi · 27/04/2020 08:07

'New normal' seems to be the new buzz phrase.

I think he'll announce some trivial good news but it will all be very positive, thanks to the NHS, we're in this together, we've flattened the curve etc etc

It was clear Raab's brief was do nothing, say nothing, and wait for Boris to get beck, which is pretty much what he did.

I think things will start to move a bit later in the week.

TheDrsDocMartens · 27/04/2020 08:18

Flob a dob flob a dob

Barrique · 27/04/2020 08:33

It was clear Raab's brief was do nothing, say nothing

I think that’s generally Raab’s brief for any cabinet post at any given time.

collateralmadamage · 27/04/2020 08:35

He is making a statement soon. Dabbers at the ready.

Bluntness100 · 27/04/2020 08:37

I think it’s still too early for him to announce lifting lockdown, the review isn’t due till the eleventh, which is two weeks.

I think it will be if this continues we will look to ease restrictions, and we all need to stay home till then. He may give a hint on what easing restrictions looks like.

Drivingdownthe101 · 27/04/2020 08:45

Yes, I can’t see any change in measures being discussed this week. We’re only a week into the ‘at least 3 week’ extension.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 27/04/2020 08:57

"Well, that'll fucking learn me not to listen to social distancing/lockdown advice"
Learn me?

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 27/04/2020 09:00

The podium is outside 10 Downing Street right now so I think he will be addressing the nation shortly.

AIBU to wish the podium was lined up centrally to the front door? Grin
