spice girls tax avoiding
She made her money from UK taxpayers, but doesn't want to pay her share and contribute to the economy that made her rich
Now she's down on her luck and she expects the taxpayer to help her....

The country is going to be skint once this is over if the rich don't get a good soaking then I fear for the future of social order.

CathyorClaire · 28/04/2020 13:33

I wonder if this may be the story that finally damages Brand Beckham, the brand that's weathered his alleged dalliances, the knighthood email debacle, pimping out 12 year old Romeo to be a Burberry model, the tax dodging...

You forgot the private princess party at Buck House, the grubby looking Brooklyn getting his photographic artistry published and Cruz going all out for the Christmas no.1 Wink

Seems there really isn't a vanity project too far for any of them.

Alsohuman · 28/04/2020 13:35

I don’t know about the end of the brand but I strongly suspect it may be the end of her hobby business. The way businesses have dealt with this is really going to impact on their customer base in a few months.

I see DB, after a week break on Instagram, has given over his page to Age UK. How kind of him Hmm

Probably too little too late and I note the DM has increased the value of their Cotswold mansion from 4 mil to 6 mill ! Come on David you got moving, now for some cold hard cash. A million up on some PR max initiative and our MN froideur may begin to melt. Oh and get Victoria to smile for real that could be free. 5 million spread around judiciously (NHS could be a biggie) and maybe, just maybe you can right the boat.

Now can I do your PR - I' m very cheap and have plenty of time on my hands.

vera99 · 29/04/2020 20:55

Gizza a job I can do that.

Honestly, whatever they’re legally entitled to do, I think a lot of celebrities could do with showing a little bit of compassion and humility while so many people are suffering, the instagram photos of lockdown luxury style of millionaire celebrities and their opportunistic business decisions are jarringly tone deaf against the realities of life for many. Thank goodness for Joe Wicks is all I can say Grin

DeRigueurMortis · 30/04/2020 17:09

It's just been announced that's she's back tracking and won't be using the furlough scheme for her staff.

Apparently nothing at all to do with the public backlash Hmm...

Tbh I'd give her more credit if she said on reflection it was a bad call and I'm sorry.

Their explanation is embarrassing isn’t it?! They sent out warning letters to staff preparing them to be furloughed but luckily didn’t have to follow through as they managed to secure shareholder support. Hmm... it wasn’t like they had a cajole thousands of shareholders into agreement at a fraught AGM. It was pretty easy to work out if Mrs. B could dip her hand into her pocket early doors.

Alsohuman · 01/05/2020 09:29

If I were her staff I’d have already begun my search for a new job.

Viviennemary · 01/05/2020 09:33

Shamed into it. To keep the good name of that wonderful enterprise Brand Beckham that does so much for good causes. Hmm

vera99 · 01/05/2020 09:52

Too little too late. I shall continue the non-boycott.

In particular, I won't be buying the white tee that says fuck off pleb I'm rich...or combining it with upstate jeans into a nifty combo at £315. I only non-boycott full price though I simply ignore the sales.

If they were just honest it would look a lot better

DeRigueurMortis · 01/05/2020 14:14

Their explanation is embarrassing isn’t it?!

Indeed it is and also intensely patronising in the sense the public are supposed to fall for a quite ridiculous "reason".

Securing shareholder support to finance the salaries simply needed a 5 minute chat between a married couple.

So they either couldn't be bothered to have that discussion before they sent letters to the staff they wanted to furlough, or they did and decided not to dip into their own pockets until there was a public backlash - neither is a good look.

Happygirl79 · 05/05/2020 10:19

Their greed will be remembered
