“Sunny” - performed at home by Billie Eilish and Finneas. This has given me solace this evening - utterly beautiful IMO. Lots of love to you all 💖.

Fed up of celebrities trying to cheer us up by singing songs from their massive mansions to be honest

Sosadandempty · 19/04/2020 22:30

It was part of the Global Citizen Together At Home evening.

It was me trying to cheer everyone up from my not massive home Grin. Am feeling sad and anxious this evening like so many of us, and her rendition of Sunny is very beautiful IMO.

@pocketem I feel the same. It all smacks of self promotion doesn’t it. Albeit well intentioned.

Goawayquickly · 19/04/2020 22:30

I enjoyed it too OP, I like Billie Eilish a lot and she sang that beautifully.

Pipsqueak11 · 19/04/2020 22:31

Agreed sos -best performance by far!

Doublevodka · 19/04/2020 22:35

Billie Eilish has a beautiful voice. But Elton John!! WTF was that?? Singing in the style of Daffy Duck. Very bizarre.

Seeline · 19/04/2020 22:36

I liked the fact that she didn't really seem to be performing it, just sat in her front room having fun with her brother. I also liked the way Finneaus (?) kept putting the Bond theme into the background.

Sosadandempty · 19/04/2020 22:38

Yes - in her tracksuit. It was faultless and totally unforced - no shouty singing.

I loved J Lo’s rendition of ‘People’. I love that song. I agree about Elton John. WTF was that.

EachandEveryone · 19/04/2020 22:44

Oh that was a lovely version.

EachandEveryone · 19/04/2020 22:45

The Stones have still got it. You can tell Jagger has looked after himself.

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 19/04/2020 22:46

I liked it. Interesting to hear her voice raw without the usual production. I know the song but can't think who it's by?

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 19/04/2020 22:47

Yeah, Elton seemed a bit deranged.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 19/04/2020 22:49

Billie still lives with her parents in her very normal childhood home IIRC

I love Billie Eilish. She's so talented and so chilled out. Her voice is just angelic.

nancy75 · 19/04/2020 22:49

We would like to know why Charlie Watts didn’t have a drum kit? Also how did his armchair make the same sound as a cymbal.😂

Sosadandempty · 19/04/2020 22:50

Yes I thought Mick Jagger was great as well!

nancy75 · 19/04/2020 22:50

And yes, Billie lives in the family home & according to dd has a little bedroom!

BeeBella · 19/04/2020 22:51

I thought she was great. The comment about massive mansions was totally unnecessary, imo.

However. ELTON. I agree with the pp who said he sounded like Daffy Duck! WTF?!

EngagedAgain · 19/04/2020 22:59

Would liked to have seen that. Watched the beginning and had the feeling I'd end up watching 2 hours and might be lucky to have 1 really good song. Wanted to see the stones. Suppose it will be on YouTube?

Sosadandempty · 19/04/2020 23:01

Yes some of it, and on Instagram @glblctzn.

Thanks Sos, I check it out tomorrow when I can get on wifi.

I watched with my near 12 and near 10 year old. Both tic tok obsessed so only ever hear 15 seconds of any song

When EJ performed they both perked up with "ah Kermit the Frogs voice". Seriously. Even I squirmed at his facial expressions

On the other hand albeit I'm out of the order it was shown, they adored Billie E and even I kinda gave kudos. She sat. She sang. She didn't do jazz hands. She barely did vocalisation. Fair play.

The Feckhams. If reports from today are to believed that they've laid of her store staff (non essential granted!) but the house keepers etc as they allegedly can't afford to pay them....I'm sure they could squash something from their xxxxxxxxmillions!

The actual real life reports drew me to tears. Not just from what they are doing but the fact we are in this to start with.
