Anybody here work in childcare and has seen the revised furlough requirement by the government. They unturned on Friday evening.. anybody concerned about what they’ll now be receiving.. I, myself agreed to be furloughed under the impression the pay was 80%. I’ve added a link Smile www.nurseryworld.co.uk/news/article/government-makes-u-turn-on-nurseries-access-to-furlough-cash

I think as you’ve realised this is nothing to do with the government, it’s to prevent double or even triple dipping, and is the right approach. Your employer needs to communicate with you but if she has already been paid then I think there is an argument you should be.

Would it be overly cynical of me to think that this falls in with a government agenda to get all childcare attached to schools?

Overheads aren't irrelevant when it comes to the business making decisions about how to spend the funds they have coming in - that was my point. Furlough is for wages, but the government childcare funding isn't allocated in that way.

Agree with all of the points, it’s really difficult I still haven’t had any confirmation from my employer regarding the percentage of furlough we can get..but I’ll keep everyone updated! X
