Mmmm yes - I’ll nip to the shops, queue for an hour to buy non existent flour & then skip home to fucking bake !

Stay in and moan then if it suits you better.

It's a suggestion not an order, and you can bake without flour/eggs/butter/a positive outlook.

RuffleCrow · 18/04/2020 15:47

yeah, just waiting for you to send out the flour rations, bojo Hmm

HostessTrolley · 18/04/2020 15:50

If I bake, we’ll eat it 😱

WandaFish · 18/04/2020 15:54

No flour in local shops.

Annarosez · 18/04/2020 15:56

If you happen to have syrup, porridge oats and butter you could bake flapjacks OP.

Going to five shops for flour for your clients sounds like a pain in the arse!

bulliedintonamechange · 18/04/2020 15:59

God you're pathetic!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/04/2020 16:00

I have flour but as I've also got bread I'm not baking with it today.

I shall probably bake some egg custards later on.

SureTry · 18/04/2020 16:06

It's like the 'helpful' emails of meal suggestions from Tesco that I keep getting. I've not been able to get into Tesco's for over a month. Meals are whatever I can cobble together with ingredients that are long lasting. The days of me going to the shop for specific recipe ingredients are over 😔

Marmite27 · 18/04/2020 16:08

There’s plenty of baking ingredients around here.

I’m so fed up of this ‘I don’t have something so no one else can do it’ attitude.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 16:09

I love baking and cooking (usually). Hacked off that I can’t get flour easily though!

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 18/04/2020 16:16

I would love to bake my own bread, but with no strong flour and no yeast it's a tad difficult. Good luck to those who have it, but I do think OP is allowed a little vent. Smile

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 16:17

You can use plain flour or sr flour - I did a baking course ages ago. I’ll have a poke around for recipes.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 16:19

Makeitgoaway · 18/04/2020 16:34

I baked a cake today. I have flour because I often bake a cake so I always have it in. Even so I won't be doing much more baking unless it becomes more available.

It is a reasonable suggestion for a family activity but it does demonstrate an out of touchness which is surprising from (presumably) a PR professional.

unhappyclap · 18/04/2020 17:03

I thinnk the idea is that they've assumed most people will have eggs, flour, butter and sugar at home, so why not bake something as a treat. Don't see the harm in this tweet at all. Am i missing something?

Oakmaiden · 18/04/2020 17:06

I'm in South Wales, and haven't seen flour in the shops since the toilet roll debacle started. I assume they must get some, but it is always gone by the time I get there.

And the tweet irritates me because I would love to do some baking, but can't.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 18/04/2020 17:22

@Oakmaiden same, I'm in Cardiff and it's just non-existent.

FaFoutis · 18/04/2020 17:26

Completely out of touch with reality as usual.
No flour here and hasn't been any for weeks, It's a well known shortage.

Iamclearlyamug · 18/04/2020 17:30

I haven't struggled to get hold of flour and even if I do it hasn't stopped me making other things - today I had my first bash at a terrys chocolate orange cheesecake, and a lemon drizzle cake for my mum
