Mmmm yes - I’ll nip to the shops, queue for an hour to buy non existent flour & then skip home to fucking bake !

Oh wow

Nixen · 18/04/2020 15:05

Some of us have flour. Are you always this petty? That’s like being pissed off that they say ‘stay home and watch a movie’ but you don’t have a tv.

HearthandHome · 18/04/2020 15:07

Nobody I know has flour...I can’t get hold of ANY baking stuff...not even box cakes. They’ve missed the mark with this as haven’t they...shocking!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/04/2020 15:08

I have self raising flour! We baked a cake yesterday.

ColouringPencils · 18/04/2020 15:08

There is flour in corner shops round here.

SpringBlossomIsBeautiful · 18/04/2020 15:08

@Nixen - how is this petty ?
I’ve personally been to 5 shops today & there is NO flour

It depends where you live. I live in one of the worst affected parts of the country, but I have plenty of baking ingredients due to the better supply chains around here. Hooray.

TW2013 · 18/04/2020 15:09

Boris must be feeling better if he is baking a loaf.

IDefinitelyHaveFriends · 18/04/2020 15:10

It’s rather more like saying “watch a movie” when there is a national television strike and Netflix has been rationed. Yes some people can do it (I’m just about to bake Left Over Easter Egg Cake myself with the last of my self-raising) but it is generally a bit problematic.

Angellegna · 18/04/2020 15:10

Get a life!

MegUffin · 18/04/2020 15:11

Good idea! We're baking...

You can use a whole host of different ingredients...

😊😋

CheriLittlebottom · 18/04/2020 15:12

I've got flour (already had it) and there's flour in the shops round here. Sorry.

Nixen · 18/04/2020 15:12

@SpringBlossomIsBeautiful because it’s such a small thing to get worked up about don’t you think? Not every tweet is going to apply to you. I don’t have a dog but you don’t see me getting pissed off about the dog walking advice 🙄

Also, you really shouldn’t be going to 5 shops, that’s absolutely ridiculous.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 18/04/2020 15:13

Well some of us are shopping at some point weekly for family so we you know use our brains and buy ingredients then, as baking/cooking is a lovely activity especially to get dc involved in.

Nothing wrong with that tweet

You’ve really gone some to get annoyed by it, maybe you should take your daily exercise you could probably do with some air lockdown clearly has you a bit bored today

Starlightstarbright1 · 18/04/2020 15:13

I have flour . I haven’t bought any since before lockdown and still have a good half bag , I have a dozen eggs and sugar, a packet of pastry in the freezer so I can bake.

It however is a point do something at home. You can be offended about any if you try hard enough

ChateauMyself · 18/04/2020 15:14

I haven’t seen flour for over 4/5 weeks now. West Herts.

Wishforsnow · 18/04/2020 15:15

Loads of flour in all the shops near me

SpringBlossomIsBeautiful · 18/04/2020 15:16

@P1nkHeartLovesCake no bored at all. I’ve been working today & looking for flour for the 5 isolating people I shop for

SorrelBlackbeak · 18/04/2020 15:18

Kimpeach22 · 18/04/2020 15:22

Might as well said safe home get fat

Mamamia456 · 18/04/2020 15:22

OP - It's just a suggestion, not law.... yet.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/04/2020 15:25

i have flour, had plenty before this started and got self raising flour in tesco last week. Weve been doing loads of baking

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 18/04/2020 15:25

Why would baking make you fat? As a family we’ve baked for years, not fat yet. The government aren’t responsible for someone eating all the cake ffs

SpringBlossomIsBeautiful · 18/04/2020 15:27

It was meant to be light hearted. I’m happy lots of posters have flour.
I would love to drop flour off & brighten my self isolating clients day. I did manage to find Dettol spray so feel like I’m winning

I think it missed the mark too. Yes, some fit people have manged to shop and get flour, eggs easily.

We've had a flour, egg and yeast shortage here and getting a delivery for vulnerable people has been incredibly hard. My mum has got her first delivery next week. It took that long to sort. We've been shopping for her and PIL but there have been limits on how much we can buy and some stuff isnt available. I think if you are going to send a tweet like that out nationally, You should have some awareness that bits of the counrty are struggling accessing basic food stuffs.
