But there is a party going on over the road and children playing out!!!

Really glad that at least someone is not having a shitty and horrible time of it , and you're ok with people not following lockdown?

twoHopes · 16/04/2020 22:33

People are starting to be twats about it. I was in the hallway of my building today getting my post and a group of people with kids walked in the front door (who don't live here). They looked at me shiftily before going to the flat upstairs. Why do some people think the rules just don't apply to them?

Peppafrig · 16/04/2020 22:33

@celan so we should all have people over and have parties ? If one person does it then why not everyone.

Soontobe60 · 16/04/2020 22:40

@celan
Whilst I have no doubt that many others also feel the way you do, can't you see that the lockdown will just keep being extended if people are not practicing social distancing. How will that impact on your mental health? Just think about being told in three weeks time that we've got to stay in for yet another three weeks?
I hope you can get some support, keep safe.

User202004 · 16/04/2020 22:40

@celan I'm with you, the mass hysteria is more bloody contagious than the virus. If someone wants to report crack on, but not everyone wants to concede to a curtain twitching Nazi state, we don't HAVE to report!

itsme1234 · 16/04/2020 22:41

I was in the front garden earlier and found out via one of the other neighbours who was walking the dog that it was the eldest childs 13th birthday so they were having a "little gathering" because her party couldn't go ahead. Little gathering from what I saw earlier was four adults who don't live there and her little sister and another couple of children playing out.
I didn't report because wouldn't want to known as "that neighbour"

This thread. Ugh.

And no, I'm not a flouter. But I'll take a flouter over an informant any day. The disease they're spreading is potentially a lot more insidious than CV19.

We are not living in the Eastern bloc. And I, for one, don't want to end up with a society that resembles it.

LastTrainEast · 16/04/2020 22:52

Well we do have to increase the numbers of infected so I guess they are volunteering.

Bool · 16/04/2020 22:53

@MarieIVanArkleStinks fully agree. Please calm down. This virus will spread. They are helping it spread slowly. Which is what we need. To prevent a spike in winter.

Gwenhwyfar · 16/04/2020 22:59

" Please calm down. This virus will spread. They are helping it spread slowly. Which is what we need. To prevent a spike in winter."

What? So why am I not allowed out then?

Bool · 16/04/2020 23:00

@Gwenhwyfar because we need to slow it down

Kitcat47 · 16/04/2020 23:00

I dont think some people understand how bad this is. You dont realize till it affects someone in your family. My dads wife was in hospital for a week and my dad was ill with it too. They are both improving but it was a worrying time x

Bool · 16/04/2020 23:03

@kitcat47 I think people do understand how bad it is. My cousin has passed away. My DH was in hospital. What’s your point?

sweetkitty · 16/04/2020 23:05

The worst thing I saw on FB someone was visiting their newborn grand-daughter “don’t worry I washed my hands and face before anyone gets worried”

Gwenhwyfar · 16/04/2020 23:07

Bool - you're saying other people can gather, but not me?? Key workers can go out, some people will still get the virus because there's still some mixing in supermarkets, but if you're saying OP has to stay in, but her neighbours can have a party?!

Bool · 16/04/2020 23:09

@gwenhwfar it’s not fair is it. What the government is trying to do is slow this virus down. But not stop it altogether. We need some level of spread. But not too much. It’s not a fair world.

OneandTwenty · 16/04/2020 23:11

Of course report!

Why shouldn't you.

slipperywhensparticus · 16/04/2020 23:11

Have a party have all the partys you want sign you DNR and crack on but dont forget it's not just you that gets sick its everyone you party with

Death before snitching is clearly a valid lifestyle choice

Bool · 16/04/2020 23:17

But what I don’t understand is. Let the people that want to, take their chances. Because in the end they will gain the immunity that will help the whole population. Stop reporting them. Let them take their chances.

Ilovemypantry · 16/04/2020 23:17

@Khione
it needs to go up again...
Oh, so you want loads more people to die before you start complying with lockdown? You must be very intelligent....

Gwenhwyfar · 16/04/2020 23:21

"Stop reporting them. Let them take their chances."

Well, no, lockdown is not optional.

DishingOutDone · 16/04/2020 23:21

Stop reporting them. Let them take their chances along with the nurses and doctors who have to try to save their lives I suppose?

letmeinthroughyourwindow · 16/04/2020 23:23

"But what I don’t understand is. Let the people that want to, take their chances."

So they can each walk around, carrying the virus but pre-symptomatic, giving it to everyone they meet, increasing the number of people requiring hospitalisation at a time when we're all being told to protect the NHS at all costs?

If it was just those idiots going down with it your comment would be fair enough, but it's not.

aladyofinderterminateage · 16/04/2020 23:24

I don't care if people breaking the lockdown get sick.
I care a lot if they pass it on to my friends and relatives who are vulnerable or working in ITU.

Marpan · 16/04/2020 23:25

I wouldn’t tell. You have to live there.
